PlayStation Suite Coming To Windows Phone 7?

Sony wants to be a major player in the mobile market that’s why the company along with Ericsson has doubled down on Android. But when the question about Windows Phone 7 came up SCE CEO Kaz Hirari said this:

"We’re focusing first on Android… There’s also Windows [Phone], iOS and so forth, but we don’t have the resources to make it compatible with everything from the start".

Despite popular belief, Sony and Microsoft don't hate each other. If they have an opportunity to make money, solo or together, they will.

Passthemic3796d ago

Absolutely agree, hey maybe this could form an unholy alliance that brings fourth the end to console exclusivity?

Tommykrem3796d ago

Probably not ;)

But back on point, Windows 7 has been running on Sony smartphones (Xperia X1 for instance), so yes, this is likely to happen.

"...bring forth an end to console exclusivity..."

As much as that would be nice, to not have to constantly argue about which console is better, it just won't happen. MS and Sony have vastly different business strategies regarding their games divisions.

it's Microsoft Game Studios and Sony Computer Entertainment that hate each other.

so working together to beat nintendo? seem nice.

even though it seem impossible. they need to clash with microsoft game studio mobile division in order to achieve this

Passthemic3796d ago

Yea your right, Microsoft should split the gaming division, make it a separate entity. Doesn't make since for the rest of the company which sees it self as a software company.

ElementX3796d ago

Of course MS and Sony don't hate each other. Sony PCs come with Windows...

Blaze9293796d ago

Microsoft already said they'd love to branch out Xbox Live to Sony and if they're interested in talking, they'll make it happen.

I don't see why MS wouldnt allow the PS Suite on WP7. They're not bitter enemies as their fanboys - I mean fanbase.

The only way I see it happening is if Sony allows PS1 games on the 360. That's if W7 takes over as the dominate cell phone OS.

Well, besides the whole dominate thing. Considering the way things are going. Also don't see Sony going to the added expense of adding achievement points when they didn't do trophies.

Passthemic3796d ago (Edited 3796d ago )

This could very well happen, Sony's mobile division is completely separate from its gaming department.

Tommykrem3796d ago

I think the Xperia Play proves that that's wrong. But, yes. They have been remarkably independent to this point.

Dumbest post I've read today

Wouldn't be surprised, if their agreement with Android is anything to go by, Sony has gone 3rd Party with some of their services, which I applaud.

If its also coming for ios and windows phone then we will witness a major revolution in mobile gaming.
