Lazygamer: Dead Space 2 Review – In Space No One Can Hear You Poop Your Pants

Nick from Lazygamer reviews Dead Space 2
"Two years of public ridicule have led up to this very moment thanks to the fact that the first Dead Space scared the hell out of me. So much so that although it’s been over two years since its release, I’ve still not been able to bring myself to actually finish it despite a handful of attempts (I eventually had to youtube the final chapter and ending to get up to speed).

As punishment, it somehow only seemed right that I should be forced to play and finish the sequel in order to write our review. While I couldn’t play the first Dead Space for longer than an hour at a time, I found myself almost entirely unable to tear myself away from Dead Space 2."

You are not supposed to tell. Didn't you read the title, no one can hear you poop in space. I wonder if they can smell it? Actually I don't want to know.

I remember playing Dead Space when it first came out and it felt like an utter trial to get to the end. This is because I felt it was just "go here, do that, do this" and it ends up being a grind.

With the release of the sequel I sat down and played through Dead Space again, alone, in the dark and on a 42" TV. While I've seen enough horror films in my time to not get freaked out and lose any sleep over such things, I was more drawn in this time round. So much so that I even did the 'One Gun' because I enjoyed the game so much.

I also realised that the being able to click a button that shows you exactly where to go is a big, big help, a tool I thought was very 'hand-holding' when I played it back in '08. I realised now that you'd be pretty lost without it as the Ishimura is just a giant, dark rust bucket full of winding corriders that would be hard to navigate.

So yes, I bought Dead Space 2 (well, sold Black Ops for it) and even though I'm only two chapters in, I could tell from the off that it was gonna be one hell of a journey.

Yeah the word is sadly under-used. It's one of the best in the english language.

No one can hear you poop your pants. But in your engineering suit you sure as hell can smell it!
