The surprise announcement from Square Enix's 1st Production Department Premier event last week was Final Fantasy XIII-2. The direct sequel to Final Fantasy XIII was announced as a Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 multiplatform title that will be released some time this year.

Following the event, Dengeki PlayStation was able to interview Yoshinori Kitase and Motomu Toriyama, who are reprising their respective producer and director roles. all they need to say is that this is stuff that was cut from the original with improvements to milk more money from consumers. It is like 3 DLC rolled into one for 60$. well that is my opinion but they could always surprise me by releasing a long game which is not linear and has towns!!!

I agree that this game will most likely consist of some art assets cut from the original, but I don't think people can argue that this is just the original game's cut content Only.

Unless you can think of how Lightning in Knight's armor could've fit into the original story. This seems to be taking a radically different path from the original.

More flashy no substance again?

Did anyone read and understand all that Etros stuff in the wiki?! Because I played and completed XIII (now on my second time through) and I didn't get any of that :/

I'd buy it if they killed off Vanille and Hope, very early in the game.

You know, if they added a few towns...toned down the linearity, and gives a story we can actually follow along. it could be a good game.

Add to this new characters instead of the old lachrymose party and you have a new game. Almost no point calling it XIII-2

Tex1173740d ago

Ha, fair point.

I actually liked the art direction and the music was pretty good. The world was just coudn't explore it. Gran Pulse the exception, and easily the best part of the game.

I don't mind Lightning as a lead if they give her some more depth...the others can have a seat.

The battles weren't BAD once they gave you the reigns at hour 15 or something like that.

Can't wait to get my hands on this title. 13 was pretty enjoyable for what its worth...

Ok, is it me or does the grunting and groaning the characters do in FFXIII grate on your nerves?

I'm not a HUGE Japanese RPG gamer so maybe this is common with the voiceover "translations" or something...

It just seems like every other thing being "said" is a grunt or a groan... Uh.. Wha.. Uh.. Oh...

Friggin' annoying. XD

Fulensenca3740d ago (Edited 3740d ago )

I agree. Final Fantasy XIII probably have more "grunt or a groan... Uh.. Wha.. Uh.. Oh..." than a porno/hentai game. Irritating.

You know I think this will actually be pretty great! FFXIII was a great game, just not a great FF game, now they saw what wrongs they did, so they can make it a whole lot less linear, a PS3 EXCLUSIVE, a less repetitive battle system and a world map! So I really want to see more of this.
