One of the highlight titles for the Nintendo 3DS in 2011 will be Nintendo’s own Kid Icarus: Uprising. If you aren’t familiar with the Kid Icarus franchise, that’s understandable as the series hasn’t seen a new installment in over twenty years. Released on the NES nearly twenty-four years ago, Kid Icarus has been absent from gaming and gamers’ minds for a longtime now, but Nintendo has entrusted the revival of the series to acclaimed game developer Masahiro Sakurai, famous for his work on Kirby and Super Smash Brothers.
BLG writes: "While it didn’t sell as well as the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo 3DS was nonetheless a wonderful system. And, while this may be a hot take, it’s easily my favorite handheld. Even more than a decade removed from launch, the system’s library has so many titles that feel as fresh today as they did back at release. While it was hard to narrow down, these 30 Nintendo 3DS games are emblematic of the system’s success."
From Zelda to Metroid, Nintendo Everything goes over the top five Nintendo franchises that have made the jump from 2D to 3D the best.
Nintendo has always been known for flaunting fine-tuned gameplay over full-blown narratives, however, Kid Icarus: Uprising literally flipped the script as it shined with its writing, story, and characters above all else.
