Digital Spy writes: "Regardless of its fairly minor flaws, Dead Space 2 is still a top game that manages to improve on the original without reinventing the wheel. Issac’s inner struggle and his frequent hallucinations make the story all the more engaging, while the more varied locations make Issac’s journey a more visually appealing one. The shrieking sounds and shadowy graphics remain as strong as ever and the gruesome combat continues to impress. The multiplayer isn’t great, but the ability to retain your weapons and power-ups for harder difficulties makes replaying the game an appealing prospect (plus PS3 owners can enjoy Wii lightgun game Dead Space: Extraction). It may leave you hiding under the covers or behind the sofa, but Dead Space 2 is worth the nightmares."
