I agree on the new dungeon. Almost all zelda remakes have something extra, like Link's Awakening DX which got the COLOR Dungeon. Maybe they could of had a 3D dungeon, that would be awesome.

Loved this game on N64. Still runs a fair bit in Project64 on my PC too with a bunch of visual mods.

Maybe i am the only one here but i thought it would look considerably better than it does versus the original TBH....N64 hardware is nigh on 15 years old, it had a 62mhz GPU with 4 megabytes of RAM. Every half decent smartphone on the market is immensely more capable technically than N64.

Dont get me wrong it does look better and the visuals aren't all important but not quite as much as i would have thought after seeing the Metal Gear and Resident Evil games running on 3DS hardware.

I agree, but the pixel count is about the same since we are comparing an old console game to a portable. It'll look sweet on a portable especially from the pop 3D has, but if it was HD it could really dwarf the N64 one in these comparisons. I need 1080p zelda already...

They should of let this game rest, IMO. Just out of respect of the game. Even to this day, I still consider it the best game of all time, no HD remake or w/e will ever beat the original game to Zelda: OoT.

But tbh, I find the original game looking better then the 3DS version. Either way, I kinda find it lame that they are trying to use this game as a way to get the 3DS to sell more. Zelda: OoT deserves WAY more then that...

Actually an HD remake would easily beat the original. However since is Nintendo it'll be a LONG time before one sees an HD remake of one of their games.

I myself never cared for the OOT. Star Fox 64 was and probably still is my favorite game on the N64. However I'm not going to go out and pay $300 just to play a remake.

I really wish Nintendo did release a Star Fox game on the Wii. Maybe they could finally make a better one than the 64 one.

Starfox 64 is my second most played game for N64, damn 4 player local battle on a 19" TV was fun lol.

I've beaten this game over dozen times and it is my favorite game of all time...ever...but I don't see the point in re-releasing it again for like the what 3rd or 4th time?

No matter how much they improve the now very dated graphics(still awesome though) it has no justification other than playing on our nostalgia to make money. I love this game but I would rather an original new Zelda title for the 3DS, that would get me excited for the system.

I just got done watching Gametrailer’s 6-part retrospective on The Legend of Zelda and I’ve decided to play through the whole series (I came to the startling realization that I’ve only actually beaten a few of them.) I’m going to go chronologically through the split timeline theory, meaning I’ll start with the Minish Cap, play Skyward Sword on the Wii and play OoT on the 3DS when they come out (in that order.) Then, I’ll do the “young link” path, followed by the “adult link” path. By the time I get to the end of both paths (In the GT version, Oracles of Time and Seasons are on the ends of both) I hope they’ll be on the 3DS virtual console.

Gee can we compare a 15 year old game? How about comparing it to a 5 year old system like the PSP and see how it fares? Not very well I am afraid. The graphics for this system are underwhelming at best. The next PSP will totally blow away this system whereas graphics are concerned.

Im not really a big fan of this.
From all the footage i have seen, Link seems to be the only well updated model. All of the other things looks like a new texture but thats it.

Looking at Resident evil...I think Nintendo could have so much more!

The way you can use first person view and move your DS around to look into your environment looks genius. It kinda reminds me of that head tracking thing with the wii. It should really add up to the depth.

Now nintendo please release Windwaker 3DS.

I honestly don't understand why people don't like these 3DS remakes. Even if it was the exact same game, graphics and all, just the thought of playing Ocarina of Time on a portable system is extremely exciting. To me, the 3D and updated graphics are just an added bonus.

Of course if they spend too much time doing the same thing to Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, AND Twilight Princess, then we might have a problem, even though they all could easily work on the 3DS. I'm just a little worried that the 3D Zelda experience might not be as good on such a small screen, but I'm probably fussing over nothing.

The reason why im not really jumping for this is because:

1: The director said, in an interview, he wanted to keep the nostalgia factor high. To keep it as people remember it, and let new/other people experience it like the oldschool gamers did. Thats why we wouldn't see a remake.

Yet here we are, I'm sure he had great internal discussions with Iwata and such, but clearly someone concinved him.

2: If you look at some other 3DS games, you know this game could have gotten a BETTER make over. Hell ill enjoy this game, but im not sure why they kept most of it is as is and just repainted the textures.

And honestly? I rather see Link to the Past 3DS...or Windwaker 3DS...or Majoras Mask 3DS...

You know what, don't care, Nintendo can go all SE on the old Zelda games and port them all to 3DS.

the reason why the ns64 remakes dont look like such a jump graphically is because the wanted to keep the SAME LOOK AND FEEL. they couldve easily made it look like twilight princess style graphics. you said it yourself the director wanted to keep nostalgia high, this look like a 64 game, just smoothed out

Call me crazy, but I prefer the look of the N64 version. Maybe it's just the nostalgia talking, but it had a nice "charm" to it that the 3Ds version doesn't seem to have. It's like watching a remastered film from decades ago and noticing that things look a little...off.

while TLoZ:OoT was probably the greatest game i had ever played up to that point in my life and a redux is welcomed, i've noticed that Ninty has a bad, almost additive habit of just rehashing old, OLD games over and over with every new system that comes out. i think they're just a tad TOO comfortable with their legacy games. give me something new please.

3ds version is slightly better. But then again we are comparing a game that game coming out this to a 13 year old game?? They could have put a better effort on to making the 3ds version on pare with games such as God of war and metal gear solid from psp:(

There is an obvious difference between the two versions. Better textures and more polygons on the models are two of the biggest improvements I can see visually. I would say that visually the new 3DS version is superior.
