Jasmine Rea writes: Any remotely playable role-playing game has a basic grasp of economics. That's a very scary and dangerous word to throw around in the real world, but in fantasy it's a much easier concept. Economy is the balance of obtainable money and purchasable items in a virtual world.
When a game economy is bad, obtaining even the most basic necessities is tremendously difficult. Ash, an RPG available on all iOS devices, suffers from this problem. From the very beginning, battling is a grueling affair. Your party is weak against constantly blocking foes and oftentimes end up on death's door after just a few rounds. When you do win a fight, the spoils amount to a meager one or two gold.
Denis Listov Says:"I started dreaming about the game in 2013. I didn’t think I could make it but I kept dreaming and making notes. In February 2016 I decided to start developing the game. I had no friends to create a team with. I took a loan, sold my car, took all my bank savings and started creating a team. Many people came and went, and only those who want to see the game’s release stayed"
Not many games that get ported to the 3DS from iOS are usually worth a second glance. Every once and a while a real gem gets ported over though. Ash is one of those gems.
Gaming Gauge has learnt that SRRN Game’s criticially acclaimed RPG Ash is coming to the 3DS eShop courtesy of Circle Entertainment. The game is currently intended for a Q3/Q4 release and will boast new, upgraded artwork; 3DS features are still under consideration.
Making everything overly expensive is a cheap way to artificially inflate the difficulty.
This is a serious problem in RPG devs that want to make something "old-school."
