DC Universe Online or: How I learned to stop worrying and love mashing buttons

Is DC Universe Online a button masher? Yes. Is that a good thing? Absolutely.

i generally hate MMO's but i really wanny get DCUO

You should get it. Its a lot of fun. I'm not to big into MMo's either, WoW tends to bore me after a little bit but this game is fast paced and a lot of fun. Plus..who doesn't like making their own super hero?..or Villian =D

GiantJedi5263d ago

I wish there was combos in in, Or I may have not played it enough to unlock combos or something.

NoOoB1015263d ago

You need to level up and go to ur weapons when u have skill points and you can unlock combo's. My Villian uses brawl style and combo's are pretty important.

Redempteur5262d ago

unlock skills and chain them !!

At lv 4 in the beta i made a very nice 102 hits combos during a quest ...

it's all about thinking what might be "intresting".

ChronoJoe5263d ago (Edited 5263d ago )

There are combos.

And if you mash on DCUO you're doing it wrong. Everything I do on the pad is pretty specific, mash in PVP and you'll just die. Any game is mashable, it only matters when there's not enough depth to the combat system to make, non-mashing more viable. DCUO has enough depth.

I love this game, but come on, even if you are accurately doing all the combos, and only combos, the amount of times you have to keep hitting square and triangle certainly classifies as button mashing.

ChronoJoe5262d ago

Mashing suggests it's random. It's not random, it's just repetitive in terms of the button presses for basic attacks. There is a difference.

So the question is: do you prefer button mashing, or mindlessly clicking the action bar to allow the character to perform the action for you (aka: every other MMO)

MMOs In 2021 Retrospective: Console Edition

WTMG's Thomas Medina: "As far as I’m concerned, console MMOs have always been in a weird place. PC is where the main game is most popular. MMOs were born there, work best there, and have the vast majority of titles. Mobile is then next in line, with touchscreens and portability that adds something new while functioning well. Console gaming, on the other hand, is not portable (for the most part). Plus, it uses a controller, which is not the best instrument when your control scheme requires a thousand buttons and a cursor. That being said, there is an audience, and where there’s money to be made, publishers find a way. So here we are with some of the biggest console MMO games and how I feel they handled 2021. "

Best Superhero Video Games Available Right Now

From Xfire: "A lot of video games are designed to make players feel like a superhero. However, very few actually feature superheroes or have players take on the role of a superhero. What makes this even worse is that there are even fewer superhero video games that can be considered good."
