Super Nintendo was a revolutionary system that made the jump to a whopping 16-bit video gaming machine. The Super Nintendo is also known as the SNES that was released by Nintendo in Europe, North America, and South America in 1990-1993.

hhmmm I'd go... FFVI Super Mario World Chrono Trigger Super Street Fighter 2 Super Mario Allstars And the Super Mario World (2?) with the cool pastel / hand drawn-like graphics would have made the top five, but baby Mario's crying freaked me out! Lol
Yoshi's Island! Yeah Mario's crying was annoying. "HELP HELP HELP"
Evey time i see those games it brings back memory of my child hood :)
The good ol' days =D
The good old days most certainly :D
can't argue with that list.
All of those games were awesome! Specially Super Metroid, but to me One of the best games I have ever played and loved every minute of it was Cybernator. And also the first 3 Megaman X.
Cybernator is often underrated and is mostly never included in most people's top lists. Amazing game for its time, and a little short if I remember correctly.
LOL! i thought i was the only one who loved cybernator! It is so underrated me and a friend spent countless hours on that game!
You aren't the only one. I love Cybernator as well, still have it, box and all. Try Front Mission: Gunhazzard as well.
Lacks Secret of Mana. Flawed list.
Yep. Was about to say that. Secret of Mana and Zombies Ate My Neighbours. To be fair, the SNES had far too many amazing games to make a definitive top 20 list, nevermind a top 5.
Zombies Ate My Neighbours is way too hard for me. I usually ragequit and put on a pouty-face. I just ain't got those skills! But, you're right about that. Folks laud over all the PS3 exclusives, but the SNES has a bunch of classics that will stand the test of time much more than many of these games. Secret of Mana's been undefeated in my heart for over 14 years (Although it came out in '93, I couldn't appreciate the game until I was old enough to read and understand the words until I was about 7)
I loved Zombies Ate My Neighbours, was excellent playing with a friend.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors is a classic that I never will forget. I had so much fun playing that game, even if it was hard and frustrating sometimes.
Yep, I was hunting through the comments to see if someone would say this. Agreed, 100%. It's been my top favorite game since it came out. Also worth noting: while this is by far not news, Square-Enix is bringing Secret of Mana to the iPhone. While I was at E3 2010 and visiting Square-Enix's booth, they were running various trailers... and the haunting title screen music from Mana began to play. It showed the title and opening sequence, all contained within the borders of an iPhone. That's all I know. No release date, no list of changes or enhancements. Not even sure if they'll have local or networked multi-player. But I want it.
Good nostalgia list there. I loved all of those games.
Guess I'll throw in my two cents as well: 1) Super Metroid 2) Chronotrigger 3) FF6 4) Axelay 5) Actraiser
Golden age gaming
I'll throw my personal list into the mix. These are the games I get all teary-eyed nostalgic when someone geeks out about classic SNES gaming. 1) Secret of Mana 2) Chrono Trigger 3) Super Mario RPG 4) Earthbound 5) The Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past Honorable Trio: Super Metroid, Breath of Fire, Super Mario World Yes, I'm an action and RPG guy, and every now and then I enjoy a good action/RPG. :D
I still have my old snes and about 20 games. Still play it form time to time even though to get the cartridges to work I have to wedge a piece of folded paper in with the game, they don't make em like that anymore. Zelda, super mario world, super mario kart, Starwing (fox) and super smash Tv would be my 5 only as I still have a go now and again.
List is false without FFVI or a Chrono Trigger on there.
My top 5 1. Super Mario World 2. The Legend of Zelda: A link to the Past 3. Super Metroid 4. Street Fighter 2 Turbo 5. Actraiser
