CVG: Who has 2011's Best Exclusives?

Last week Sony put out a list of the PlayStation 3's 2011 exclusives with a bit of a smug tone in its voice. Perhaps rightly so as well, since the platform holder has quite a lot of gaming ammunition in its cabinet this year with hard-hitters like Uncharted 3, inFamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2 and Motorstorm Apocalypse all waiting in the wings ready to be hurled at the competition.

But not so fast Mr. Keen. The Xbox 360 has got a fair few exclusives of its own lined up for dispatch this year as well.

I'm waiting GoW 3 for Xbox 360, that is the only game looking great so far in this console. Xcom, which I thought was exclusive, is for PC also.

Just a glance of what is coming to PS3 tells the whole story! Sony's 2011 lineup is I guess their biggest and best and that includes the amazing 2009 lineup of the games!

I wouldnt be surprised if MS have kept a few things hidden, but they are gonna need some serious contenders.

Won't know until the end of the year! You can have 800 exclusives but if they all suck dick, guess what? They all suck dick. I liked KZ2 but I'm looking forward to Gears 3 more than KZ3. I think for me it's going to be a close race between Uncharted/Gears 3 for the best exclusive. Good thing I own both systems. Either way 2011 is going to rock out with it's cock out!

Im not a fan boy but pay back is sweet, i remember when the ps3 was in its early life all we were hearing was the ps3 had no games(exclusives) so now its the 360 turn to feel the pain. I've got plenty of exclusives to look forward to on PC but with the multiplatform lineup for this year I wouldn't care if I played a single exclusive. Deus Ex, Brink, Rage, Crysis, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls, Mortal Kombat, LA Noire and Gears of War would be something I would consider an excellent year of gaming if I only had an Xbox 360. You're only making it seem like your hurt and trying to compensate for it trying to start in with Xbox has no games. In the end you'll look like an asshole and Xbox fans will just ignore you.

I don't know what CVG are trying to prove. They came up with two 360 games and implied a load of Kinect core games that nobody has actually seen.

GTA4 timed DLC didn't sell well enough according to Rockstar. Splinter Cell Conviction sold less than 2 mil', Crackdown 2 sold less than a million. Even Yakuza 3 sold more.

Mass Effect 2 sold less than Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2. Forza 3 sold less than GT5, Alan Wake sold less than Heavy Rain. Fable 2 AND 3 sold less than LBP and GOW3. The numbers and press releases are out there.

So what's your point?

Probably because half of the games are unknown to them. I know about Diablo 3 (which still doesn't have a release date) and Guild Wars 2 (which is at the tail end of 2011), but don't know much about the others. And I actually have a PC capable of playing most games at their max. The PS3 has great games with lots of information available coming out frequently in 2011. That isn't to say that the PC games won't be great. But I have enough info to be more excited about the PS3's exclusive line-up than any other.

Skyrim, Dead Space 2, Mass Effect 3, Bulletstorm, Portal 2, Crysis 2, Space Marine (dumb fun!), Saint's Row 3, Red Faction: Armageddon, Batman Arkham City, etc. are PLENTY of awesome games for me.

Exclusives grow far less important as an already established console's life cycle continues and lots of high end third party multiplatform games are around to fill out the library.

There's no question which has the best exclusives. PS3 of course. And I'll be buying a plethora of them. My 360 will get some love though. I've only had one a month and have about 10 games I want to try out on the system. Currently playing through Lost Odyssey and loving the fuck out of it. So all is not lost for my big white box.

2011 also has some of the best multiplatform releases in recent memory...so Xbox 360 only gamers still have some quality games to play...they just won't be playing the best games in each genre (PS3 exclusives).
