Released in 2005, F.E.A.R. was a critically acclaimed first person shooter from Monolith Studios. Tackling an angle rarely seen within its genre, Monolith’s horror-themed shooter carried an atmosphere and character that makes it memorable to this day. With a dedicated fan base, two expansions, and a sequel; developer Day 1 Studios takes hold of the reigns for F.E.A.R. 3 and hopes to make a great game even better. Awesome new features and heavy hitters like John Carpenter and Steve Niles are joining F.E.A.R. 3 to make this the most ghoulish game in the series yet.
DualShockers Writes "F.E.A.R. 3 (or F.3.A.R. if you’re a marketing executive) isn’t a great singleplayer game. It’s fine, competent even, but Day One Studios had an unenviable task in trying to wrap up Monolith’s F.E.A.R. series. With two timelines and two highly different styles of horror attempted in its wake, F.E.A.R. 3, well, it tries its best."
F.E.A.R. 3 wasn't even really a horror game when it came to the campaign. It was a good action game, but lost just about all of its horror roots along the way.
There have plenty of great horror games, but others haven't been so lucky as to stick around. They deserve to get a new lease on life.
That was probably the first time ever that I saw Castlevania in a list of horror games.
ps: Be warned, you have to click a lot to see every game in the list. I stopped after the 4th time.
What is divergent co-op and how could more games benefit from it?
is fear 2 worth getting?
Yea,Fear2 is ok.
It is a little clunky but it plays decently enough. If you can get it for under 20$ then you haven't been robbed.I think it has or had mp,I never tried the online tho, doubt the servers are still up but i'm not entirely sure.
Scaryy Hide-time.
If Kojima was playing, he would of course say "Hideo time!"...
xD
*REALLY* excited for this.
I picked up both games for under a fiver, following great reviews on Classic Game Room.
The first one, despite showing it's age - and the lead character seemingly walking with a built-up shoe], was *superb* fun. Some really great set pieces in there and I certainly got my £5's worth.
The sequel is a world prettier, but somehow not quite as great as the original. Still a really treat to play, mind.
Considering the price you can get both 1, 2 & Fear Files for - a great excuse for some budget gaming.
[With huge thanks to Mark from Classic Game Room for the head up]
This game isn't scary as the first one. I might get it, but sure it won't be the same thing
