Gizmodo: "New Hampshire-based Seacoast Radiology sent out an alert to its patients explaining that their private information may have been compromised. The reason? Some folks hacked into the medical group's server to host a game of Call of Duty."
Ok some 1 needs to teach me how to hack...I know its illegal but all this hacking news coming in has really got me thinking WTF how do they do that.... Inbox me if u got any info :D
However, all they did was use a bit of the bandwidth.
So even if you needed some info for a patient, you wouldn't even notice the extra delay. The admin found out cause he checked the bandiwdth, otherwise, there is no noticeable difference. It's not like they were capping out the servers.
Worst-case scenario is if the server crashed and you needed the data right there and then. You'd have to wait for the server to reboot. =/
The bigger issue would be if they stole the patient info. Which is more so a concern for security concern and probably where any real harm lies (but there's no evidence of any misuse of that information by the hackers)
I've got a brilliant, no more like a revolutionary idea..since their is evidently so many people out their who would love to hack into anything they can get their fatty fingers onto, lets make everything informational and identical about people and the like and store it all into an electrical device such as a network or such so they can do just that, hack into our personal crap. BUT here's the kicker of it all...we sit here, on our computers moaning about it. how these people need to get locked away NEWSFLASH!!!NEWSFLASH!!! we knew the risks as a society that this was going to happen (countless news articles dating way back even before computer were invented predicted stuff like this was going to happen) and now that it has, people can't believe it or are mortified by it. well that's one price until something actually revolutionary does get created we as a society is going to have to pay for being in an age where convenience is our number 1 propriety and safety and such comes next.
Maybe no one was harmed by this but it doesn't make it right. The little bit of attention this gets makes it look like a cool idea to some imature minds. Hackers getting away with this sort of thing almost promotes it.
even if they didn't intend to damage it, the fact that they are breaking into the system is a danger in itself. What would happen if they trigged something that caused the server to shutdown? The server isn't designed for running COD, so that could crash the server. You don't know, and neither did they and that why its a big deal.
So say you are away on vacation and a group of thugs break into your house and use it while you are away. They watch your tv, jerk off on your bed, cook some meals, take some shits, jerk off on your couch, clean up and leave before you are back. However they steal nothing. Is that acceptable behavior to you knowing that every time you go away this can/will happen?
Come on guys use some common sense before you defend this shit!
lol
What a bunch of dicks.
Really? Just for Black Ops they decided to hack a medical server? I swear some people have lost the ability to use their brain properly.

That's crazy!! We're talking about people's information that have their lives in the balance. Phuck GeoHot, these MOFO's need to be taken to court.
