RadioShack will start selling Xbox 360 and copies of Halo 3

RadioShack, whose sales have declined for the past four quarters, will start selling Microsoft's Xbox 360 video-game consoles and its "Halo 3" title at some locations. The news boosted the stock of the third-largest U.S. consumer-electronics retailer by $1.60, or 7.3 percent, to $23.66.

I was just thinking the same thing. But the funny thing is I don't think Radio Shack has ever carried game consoles. Or games for that matter.

I could be wrong but I don't remember ever seeing them there. I guess a lot of retailers think the release of Halo 3 is going to be huge.

I really don't know. I just googled Halo 3 pics and that was 1 of 3 that popped up. I didn't even really notice until I read your post. And realized that the original cover had the H3 Logo.

They had crappy 3rd party peripherals. They may still sell them. It's funny to see them pick the 360 and one game. But it's the best system and the best game.

Radioshack, I mean I go there to buy all types of batteries, and little things I can't find anywhere else. Actually the Radioshack at mall near me, shares the same wall as a Gamestop.

This might be the new "Sleeper Location" to get certain games or reserve things, if they keep this on the down-low, while everyone is fighting and sleeping out at the other stores. That along will bring their sales up.

Burger King sold the Xbox Burger King games and they will start to sell the fries and sodas with Halo 3 on them I think next week

alright. so far we got a bank advertising the M.C. banks there, a NASCAR halo car on the racing circuit, 7 -11 has slurpee cups, in store ads, and you can pre-order the game there, not to mention almost everyday ive been seeing a halo ad on tv and i only watch sports and late night news/comedy shows...damn halo i cant get it outta my brain!

Man this Halo 3 hype is sure building quickly and huge. I like it and sure hope the game lives up to it like Halo 2 did and still does.
I remember when Halo 2 came out I bought a zip-zap car from radio shack. I then cut out a bunch of tiny halo2, bugi, and xbox logos wich I made into stickers for the mini car. Me and my bro's would race them at work. Good times.

But I'm still getting my copy of Halo 3 (Legendary Edition ^_^) from Gamestop because I've had mine reserved there forever.

over 13000 to just over 1000 systems.

why is nintendo beating microsoft when microsoft had a year head start?360 had all these "games",xbox live and a $299 system for 2 years.nintendo has no online service like live,hasn't released it's big guns like mario,metroid,smash bros,pokemon,etc.,and has only been on the market 10 months.don't get a big head yet.the war has just begun.

as for radio shack,they just want to get in on making money.an american company supporting an american company to make money for themselves.i wouldn't be surprised to see pizza hut selling halo3.or starbucks.plus,this is not the 70's.who buys game systems at radio shack anymore?

mag-lev, sony is in 3rd place in the US an their 3rd place world wide. the ONLY place the PS3 is outselling the 360 is japan. but who cares about japan an the quirky games they like!! whats surprising is how this gen has happen!! truthfully I was expecting the Ps3 to do what the Wii did, jump out the gates an CATCH the 360 sales in one year JUST BECAUSE its a PLAYSTATION!! I knew sony was expecting it an I bet MS expected it to some degree, but guess what!! sony is in last place an in no way seems to be catching up!! MS said they couldnt be in a better position this gen an there right!! those almost 10 million Wii's couls have easily been PS3's if sony had played their cards right, but instead they went away from a games console an tried to make the PS3 to many things.(games console,blu ray player,PC,media hub) an their sales show it!! now be honest, who in here didnt expect the PS3 to fly off the shelves before it was released!! the PS3 has been out for 10 months an it has only outsold the 360 MAYBE 3 months. MS has survived the PS3's LAUNCH HYPE an now its business as usual

why has microsoft not sold 500,000 systems in japan in 2 years after all these "big games" like blue dragon,oblivion,gears of war,dead rising,lost planet,pgr3,forza2,etc.

sony has over a million systems in each region.and at TGS,you will learn the latest ps3 figures.you won't have to wait long.

maybe microsoft need sushi shops or high end restaurants in japan to just get over 500,000 systems sold.maybe halo3 can be sold with a bag of shrimp chips or dried seaweed(very tasty).

america is not the only region that microsoft should be worried about.

it funny how you only want to talk about 360 sales in Japan, where its clear that the japanese gaming culture heavily favors their homegrown products, and even with that said the wii is crushing ps3 in THEIR OWN TERRITORY, here in the US we have no such bias, ps2 sold better here than any other country, yet ps3 is getting its ass whipped by 360, and everywhere else it sells well= except japan= that just proves that it has less to do with the 360 not being a good console and more to do with japanese culture= they dont like western games but its OK I would never play most of the shiii games that are usually at the top of their charts either=
