Little Big Planet 2 is a must have for any PS3 owner, especially if they were into the first game. Just like Super Mario Galaxy 2, Little Big Planet 2 is a worthy sequel that takes everything to a new level.
"Little Big Planet 2 is a must have for any PS3 owner, especially if they were into the first game. Just like Super Mario Galaxy 2, Little Big Planet 2 is a worthy sequel that takes everything to a new level." I rather not have this concept that LBP is anything like Mario. And I am not knocking Mario, but Galaxy didn't give you the option to create your own planetoid, LBP2 did. Create your own planet and fill it with not only levels, but games. New genres and new experiences.
I agree. The LBP franchise single handedly defined it's own genre. I doubt any will ever match it's ingenuity.
I remember an old game called "RPG Maker" on the PSOne and hoped someday a much better game somewhat like it would come along with better level creation tools, video & sound editing..... And then comes LBP 2 ....what a surprise! I never thought it would come to my PS3!!! And a 3illion times better than RPG Maker! Now the family can make not just RPGs but also all sorts of games inside one game & story. Action, adventure, puzzles, strategy, shooters, interactive, rhythm games you name it. This software turns the PS3 into a Game Development Kit!!! Now this is what we call INNOVATIVE NEW IP from Sony. An innovative game where we can play, create & share more innovative games with in. Even if Sony makes it to LBP 100 it will always stay fresh and new with new games you can do with it. Happy Times ahead. : )
Its still a pretty glowing comment to be compared to Mario. The Mario games are still some of the most polished and innovative platformers around. I think the reviewer was just stating that LBP2 builds on an already amazing concept just as well as Mario Galaxy 2 did. They weren't really comparing they're gameplay, but instead just their general success.
how can a game be so good goty LittleBigPlanet 2 has a Metascore of 94
ppl compare it to mario so much that i may make a mini saga side scrolling platformer story game lol.
It should be agaisnt the law to compare this great game to mario. Mario is a milked frachise that hasnt been innovative since mario 64. LBP is the face of innovation right now and it doesnt show any sign of going into the milking phase anytime soon. Im glad there are devs out there who still care about trying something new and pushing the boundaries on what we thought was possible. LBP has earned my respect.
Well insofar as LBP is a platformer, it will inevitably be compared to Mario, which defined the genre. Of course LBP has pushed some of the boundaries and is an amazing game, but as a pure platformer, I think Mario will still be remembered as the flagship game.
If awesome were people, LBP would be China.
@ Dsnyder. I have to agree with you there. It is almost shameful to see what Nintendo has turned Mario into. He was my favorite mascot long ago right next to Sonic and Banjo. This is one of the reasons why I am glad Sony never picked a mascot to milk to death on their system. I would hate to see the same thing happen to Sack boy, Sly or Jak. i mean Crash was going down that same road and Sonic is basically a hollow shell. I know people will disagree with me but I was a Nintendo fan like everyone else before I turned my back on Nintendo for Sony.
Cant wait for this game I have LBP1 and LBP for PSP and cant wait to pick this one up just ashame I cant get it on day one but ill defo pick it up within the first month of it being out.
Picking it up as soon as I can.
