Street Fighter is the best fighting franchise is history. But which game is the best iteration? Find out here...
Out of that list I would say Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. The original SF2Turbo is the most blanced fighting game in the history of fighting games.
is the best. No crazy combos like MVC. No weird rules about one character's move overriding another character's move. And with air guard, you are never forced to do what the opponent want you to do. Ken can't do his hadoken, hadoken, hadoken, dragon uppercut sh*t anymore. You are not forced to play each character like how the developers want. You can play them in your own style. Here's hoping for an Alpha 3 HD remake.
I agree with this.. third strike was sick and the alphas werr amazing too.
Street Fighter Alpha 3 is the best. All the awesome memories. I will always love you Rose.
SFA3 was great and I have that game for every system it was ever released on even ght GBA. It is hard to say because each one was great in its own way. Really tought to choose a favorite. I think that if they remade Alpha 3 in HD with the original music for the returning SF2 and alpha 2 for their themes I would have to agree that SFA3 max for the PSP is the best version and that is the best SF. I hated the SFA3 music compared to Alpha 1 rearranged and Alpha 2. Gameplay wise I still play Alpha 3 on the PSP to this day.
agreed. i absolutely LOVED SSF4 ive played it to bits online however i have a soft spot for alpha 3.Street fighter at its finest for me
I'm gunna say Street Fighter 3 Third Stirke, music, graphics, smooth as fuck and parrying, what a masterpiece
3rd Strike is like butter.
I agree 100% 3rd strike is the best.
Agreed. That game isn't just balanced, amazing to control, and deep, it also just oozes charm. It screams nostalgic 90's kitsch with the rap tune at the selection screen, the soundtrack goes from acid jazz to Carmina Burana-ish stuff, the animation looks like it was done painstakingly frame-by-frame, the character designs are ridiculous and original, the move selection mechanic is quick, easy, and understandable, the parry system changed fighting games as we knew them... We could all go on. It's one of my favorite games. Period. That's not to say that the other games on the list aren't good - they're all awesome, this guy knows his stuff. It's just that 3rd Strike is a once-in-a-lifetime convergence of style, substance, and craftsmanship. In the business world, that kind of effort's a waste of staff time with low return on investment, but in the gamer's world, it was a sight to behold. They don't make them like that anymore, and they didn't make them like that before.
SF3 third just needs a remake and a cheat parry button (lol) for people like me who could not perfect it. Just a all around balanced game that is just too deep.
A remake has already been announced for XBLA and PSN, Street Fighter Third Strike Online Edition, was announced mid last year i think it was, but its still way in development and ain't probably going to see release till sometime in 2012, Capcom keep going on that they shouldn't have announced it this early as they announced it just as development started.
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo Remix FTW
Man i wish they would bring SFA3 to the psn store.
$10 on the PSP and the best version of the game with all the DC version modes and 4 extra characters to boot.
Can't really pick one . The officials and their extra versions were pretty great so far . And alpha 3 the best spin off so far
as of now Its pretty close but i would have to say its SSF4. that game is pretty well balanced for the most part, all fighting games have its flaws. I think Third Strike is a very close second, the music is good and the characters are really good. If they could only add Alex to SSF4 that would make it unanimous.
1. 3RD Strike 2. SSFIV 3. Alpha 2
I could never really get into the whole SF4.. or maybe I just suck at it lol. But my favorites all time would be a toss up between SFA2 and SFA3.
SF2 Turbo is my all time favourite, if only for the amount of time I spent on it on the snes and in the arcades. I think it was also the most pure in terms of gameplay (if that makes sense) because it was very balanced and it wasn't too complicated.
SFIII:3rd Strike for life! Best fighting system, best characters, best stages, best music and best animation in the whole series. With Garou: Mark of the Wolves it's the best of the best 2D fighter up to date.
1987's arcade coin-op street fighter 1 is my favorite and what got me into the whole sf franchise...the entire alpha series was fantastic so many unique cool characters, levels and animation and air blocking is a must...then i would say SF3 as my 3rd favorite...SSF4 is great too
I Like the SF2s except HD remix, the SFAs and SF3s are still my faves, I love alpha 3, for some reason I liked 2nd Impact more than 3rd Strike, EX series, while not as good as the others, still find em great.... SF4 & SSF4, not so much, but still great!!!!
