Happy New Year to everyone at N4G! Today a new batch of Daily Deals are up for sale including all "Half-Life" games, "Mafia II", "Medal of Honor", and all "Company of Heroes" games. This comes from the Steam Content Examiner at Examiner.com.
Another day, another purchase from Steam... One day I'll get time to play these games. Anyway, since 23rd August 2010, I've spent £24.88 on games from Steam and have this collection formed: http://i52.tinypic.com/2dtb...
Nice man. +1 for having Amnesia: The Dark Descent up there.
Finally got to play it today as I made my friend buy it as well (I haven't even had the time to download and play it on my own computer yet) and that game is worth playing for the atmosphere alone. Every corridor was "Aagggh, crap! No!"
I hate how Amnesia doesn't support some Graphics Chips though. The game alone is a reason I would want to update my graphics. Its amazing, I have seen so many walkthroughs and its just terrifying.
Bought Mafia 2 and Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood today :)
I did my best not to buy this year since I am way behind on my games. However, when I saw Mafia 2 for that price I had to get it.
During this sale alone I've purchased... - Amnesia: The Dark Descent - Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY - Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (gift) - Mass Effect 2 - Mirror's Edge - The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom - Poker Night at the Inventory (gift) - S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl - S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat All for about $35.
i own 3 steam games. got them all for free. KOTOR - PAX Code Portal - That day when valve were giving it for free Worms Reloaded - Review Code hehe
You call that a list Thom?!? Thats nothing man. Good to see you jumped on board though.
I wanted to buy more, I really did, but Christmas and what not drained resources to the point I've just been buying the "basics" (read: Valve games and STALKER - still need CS 1.6 and Source, so I'm not done... yet. :P) I've never been into PC gaming but between Steam and BioShock, AoE and Deus Ex on GFW, I think I'm set for a while. :P Basically, I'm taking up PC gaming due to Steam sales... Just need a desktop PC now to run them at sensible levels, this laptop is about to die... :D
Good to see people picking up the stalker games. They're quite scary too... or well, they've got good atmosphere that can lead to scares. It's going to take a good chunk of time to chew through those games. Good thing you skipped on the MassEffect sales. =p I have 62 games that I've yet to complete. =( Give Sam & Max episode 104 a shot too. It's free and good fun.
Why is it a good thing he skipped on the Mass Effect sales?
"Why is it a good thing he skipped on the Mass Effect sales?" I think he's trying to say that Mass Effect would take a ton of time to chew through too, and that list of games is already a time-eater.
Is Amnesia: The Dark Descent, kind of like a figure it by yourself asshole kind of game? Like you have to think a lot how to advance further in the castle. Kind of like point and click adventure but with horror style? Or is it pretty straightfoward, and easy?
It's the typical survival horror formula: - Explore dark spooky environment - Find a few items - Combine said items to make new item - New item helps you proceed further That's the gist of it at least. It's similar to the old ResidentEvil/SilentHill games.
But the whole premise behind it is you can't fight the monsters, you have to hide in the dark..the longer you hide though, the more insane he gets (i.e. starts seeing monsters XD) I love it!
Yeah. I haven't had a decent scare from a game in a long time until I played that game. And it wasn't just plain "scary" I was terrified. Lol.
AWESOME deal on Mafia 2
I was wishing the did the same for Ruse. I was holding out for Mafia and Ruse. However, Ruse was not that great of a deal so I did not pull the trigger.
great sales So many backlogged games that it'll be hard to really bring myself to purchase any games for a while. My suggestion to anyone planning on getting a gaming pc is remember to save money for the Summer and Holiday sales. No better way to have a ton of great games to play for a fraction of the cost than to just have a good amount to spend on those two sales.
My collection is growing and at a fraction of the cost. STALKER, Witcher, Mafia 2, Dragon Age, Crysis, Serious Sam, Far cry 2 and Metro 2033 to name a few, kind of gutted I missed out on Amnesia. last day of sales tomrrow hope they saving something special for last.
My PC is broken and the new parts won't arriv e untill the 5th, got over 100 games on Steam anyway.
HL is getting old... But is a great game.
ive spent £90 so far
lol which probably got you around 30 games:P
altough i already owned most games from the valve pack i got around 50
Oh come on, only bought half life the other day ahh well was still only £2.49. Only just started steam and i can tell that ill be buying alot of games :)
pmd you with my steam name.
im addicted to Steam http://steamcommunity.com/i... They are too cheap, well i got a good collection out of it tho
Like I say every Steam sale: Only Steam, Valve and Gabe can do this please tell me another company like them. Right lets get playing got 38 games this holiday lol costing £198.42
I've bought a good few games on Steam during this sale and haven't had time to play them really lol...I'll get through em at some point though. Some great deals, plenty of games for that rainy day now too or for when there's a ton of boredom. I check the new deals every day religiously too....I'm hoping they put up the BFBC2 vietnam DLC on sale before it ends!
Does anyone know if they have ever had a daily deal and during the same 12 days put it back on for a lower price? I want a better deal on Ruse. 33% was just not enough for me to pull the trigger. I assume if they did that, there would be some mad people who got it the first time it went up on sale.
If you live in the UK get the retail version from HMV for £14.99 then activate it through Steam that is what I did.
