Gran Turismo 5? O.O

PirateThom2909d ago

As silly as it sounds, GT5 has a lot of levelling attached to it.

MariaHelFutura2909d ago (Edited 2909d ago )

I call it an RPR (Role Playing Racer)

Yea, I`ve put around 100hrs into it and I`m at level 27.

visualb2909d ago

not RPG though =|

I know what you has a "leveling system"

and as any role playing game, it needs you to play a role in a story.

in GT5 you play the role of a driver...but thats it.

i'd say GT5 has a great leveling and customization system, but, in the traditional sense of the word

Nier?? LOL anyways as a massive RPG gamer (it's my number 1 game category :) some games are just overscored like Valkyria Chronicles. I bought it after great reviews and was massively disappointed and I traded it in towards a copy of Eternal Sonata. I also don't see the pull of demons souls? Is it the free online co-op thing?? As a game that hard just isn't fun..

Seniorscrapper2909d ago

Oblivion had to be in top, there's no RPG on any platform that beats that game!!!

guzman2909d ago Unless you like glitchy, bug ridden, crashtastic, generic western fantasy pap.

zagibu2908d ago

Oblivion with mods can be pretty good, but naked, it had too many problems. My main gripe with it was the player-level based loot and monsters. How many times have I explored a dungeon to only find a generic random item at the end? How many ogres have i slain?
And don't get me started about the portals...after the third, it became TEDIOUS.

Wow Crashed my 360 so many times I couldn't count I got for PS3 eventually when GOTY edition was released and that did too.. Shouldn't even be a console RPG should be filed away under PC only like the witcher. Disgaea 3 should be on the list though. Throughout all its faults its a top top RPG. White Knight was great too.

rufioho2909d ago

Demon's Souls, are you kidding me? That game was hard that's all.

Ratchet5102909d ago

that is why the game is good because it is a challenge. If you think Demon Souls is weak because it is too hard, that mean you not a hardcore gamer.

christheredhead2909d ago

the game was difficult but it wasent as hard as most people said. its definitely a challenge, theres no doubt about that, but its manageable. its a great game and one of the best this gen. we need more games like demons souls. for me that game was a fresh take on the rpg genre. i put an insane amount of hours into that game. i hope to see a demons souls 2 in the future.

guzman2909d ago

Pampers and training wheels are in aisle three, Rufioho.

techrave2909d ago

The Witcher? huh seems like many people like this game for some reason!

MariaHelFutura2909d ago

Isn`t the Witcher coming to PS3?

Vesemir2909d ago (Edited 2909d ago )

The reason is because the game is simply amazing. IMO it is the best newgen RPG.

The Witcher isn't coming to consoles. There was a different version of the game, a completely new game called The Witcher: Rise Of The White Wolf that was being produced for the newgen consoles, but CD RED Project canceled it for lack of quality.

If I recall correctly CD Project lent the production of Rise Of The White Wolf to a french company, but the early results didn't met their expectations, so they cancelled the whole project.

Whoever disagreed hates rpgs. End Of Story.

TheDivine2909d ago

It was a pc to console port but they couldnt get a publisher or the cash or something. Part 2 is supposed to come to consoles also(we will see) Id say Lost Odyssey
fallout 3/new vegas
tales of vesperia
resonance of fate
divinity 2
fable 2/3
white knight chronicles

Vesemir2909d ago (Edited 2909d ago )

No it wasn't a port. It was a totally remodeled game altogether.

This isn't present in the original Witcher.

"It had been built from the ground up for Widescreen Games' DaVinci Engine and featured a host of differences.

On the 29th of April 2009 the production of the game announced to have been halted due to late payments from CDproject to the French developers of the console version, Widescreen games.

A release from CDproject's CEO Michal Kicinski stated that payments were delayed due to Widescreen games not meeting development deadlines, additionally stating that "technical incapability created a risk of missing planned quality" and that CDproject had ended their association with Widescreen games."
