Yet the most recognizable ip's and game characters came from Japan. It is a very significant market that people tend to underestimate. The world is round.

japan is 99% of the world

Azmacna2858d ago

nope and neither is America or Europe... i think you'll find it's a combination of many countries.

ps2ftw2858d ago

You're right.
Except for the fact that America and Europe are continents of course.

mrv3212858d ago

LOL, now that's a subject.

America is infact mostly recognized as two continent, North and South while Europe is infact Geography speaking a part of a larger continent of Euroaisa.

Infact I don't consider Europe a continent, due in large the fact it isn't on it's own tectonic plate and isn't a seperate land mass.

ps2ftw2858d ago

but its widely regarded that way.
In schools they teach five continents, Europe, America, Asia, Africa, and Australia(or is it Australasia?).
the technicalities could be discussed for ages but thats just the way people and politics consider it.

mrv3212858d ago

Actually MOST English speaking countries teach of the 7 continent system. I'm not too sure about U.S.A because they seem to have a very weird and isolated view of the sciences, I'm not saying wrong just very different.

That is a map, the red is every country not using S.I units, something which is VERY standard.

ps2ftw2858d ago (Edited 2858d ago )

im actually from Scotland in the UK. :)
I'll agree that probably most countries accept North America and South America as different continents.
But Europe, even if technically not geographically a continent on its own, is generally considered politically and by the public as its own continent.

oh and btw, who would have though you could have an intelligent discussion on N4G, eh? :P

Monster Hunter and Dragon quest are pretty much the COD's of Japan eh?

Close_Second2858d ago (Edited 2858d ago )

Nintendo...they own Japan. PSP software sales seem to be solid over there as well. Wish they would release more of those PSP games outside of Japan.
