Five N64 Games That Deserve 3DS Enhanced Ports

Justin from Ripten: Nintendo has already announced that they are planning on bringing enhanced ports of two Nintendo 64 titles to the Nintendo 3DS. The games are The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Star Fox 64. It’s exciting to see both of these classics hit the Nintendo 3DS platform and it got me thinking: The Nintendo 64 library is full of many amazing titles that deserve to be given new life on the Nintendo 3DS platform.

They need to put Bomberman:Hero on the 3DS for sure.

-Mezzo-4938d ago

Agreed, Enhanced Bomberman should be released again.

Wenis4938d ago

Banjo and Cruis'n the World games.. definitely some of my favorite N64 games

HolyOrangeCows4938d ago

Too bad Nintendo doesn't own Rare and (most of) its properties anymore; portable Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie would have been that much more awesome.

kissmeimgreek4938d ago

not gonna happen since MS own the IP

CrzyFooL4938d ago (Edited 4938d ago )

oooh, you're right - the truth hurts my insides . . . maybe Nintendo will buy it back :-)

KingNintendoFanboy4938d ago

Rare has developed games for DS before.

I remember I had Perfect Dark for Gameboy Color. It was horrible. The graphics made me want to stick needles through my eyes, the sound design was horrible and sounded like metal being dragged across glass, and controls were crap. Very bad game, one of the worst Gameboy Color games.

If there is a Perfect Dark game for 3DS.. I really... really.. hope that it's not that level of crappiness.

ChickeyCantor4938d ago (Edited 4938d ago )

Perfect dark on the GBC back then was awesome.

So by default you my friend are wrong =P

horrible?
Perhaps you already had needles in your eyes, this looks pretty awesome for a GBC game.
( yes i own the game myself)

AND IT WAS GREAT. It had bots, co-op, co-op challenges, and even Counter-operative(where on person controlls the bad guys in SP). Unfortunately, even with the expansion pack the N64 was too weak to run it. The framerate dropped wayyy too low sometimes in splitscreen so all the modes were not as great as if it had run smoothly.

dagamdagee4938d ago

Props for the Sin and Punishment pic. That game would be balls awesome if it got an overhaul.

I would to see a WWF No Mercy. When wrestling games were actually good.

dalibor4938d ago (Edited 4938d ago )

Yeah what the hell happened to wrestling games? They were fun to play with back in the day. Rip ECW and WCW

Zachmo1824938d ago

Yep. They totally suck now actually wrestling sucks in general now.

Golden Eye > Perfect Dark I thought.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the anti-Breath of the Wild

Polygon: "To get back to the way Ocarina made us feel, it was necessary to reject almost everything about it."

Ocarina of Time changed my life forever, such a masterpiece

Zeldafan64182d ago

Hard to believe it's 25 years old already.

Cacabunga182d ago

The feeling this game gave me the first time i had my hands on it is indescribable.. i still get the chill from that day..
botw is like a spin off of the series.. it’s fun but with many flaws and the most important which is Zelda formula isn’t there..

FinalFantasyFanatic182d ago

I can't even remember how many times I played through OoT, I finished that game, and collected everything so many times.

Vits182d ago

I generally agree with the author here. However, if I had to point out a single game as the 'anti-Breath of the Wild,' that would be Majora's Mask. Pretty much everything in that game is interconnected, relies on something that the player must have done previously, is timed, and can be considered a puzzle in itself.

gold_drake182d ago

but still considered the best of the seties.

i would have liked botw to be more like ocarina.

franwex182d ago (Edited 182d ago )

25 years from today whatever Zelda is out people would too be looking fondly at Breath of the Wild.

Ah the more simple times of the 2020s.

It isn't...

Zelda: Ocarina of Time - A Legend 25 Years in the Making

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time debuted 25 years ago, forever changing the face of video games and becoming a legend of its own.

Number1TailzFan215d ago

I used a guide to beat part of it but some of the rest myself, still enjoyed it regardless. Too bad they didn't stick with this kind of gameplay for the rest of the series as I would prefer it over what they're doing now.

TheBrainZ214d ago

A definitive moment in video game history. Played it countless times, and Zelda was the best reason to own an N64.

FinalFantasyFanatic214d ago

I played through OoT so many times on the 64, then I bought it on the 3DS before the Eshop shut down. I wish we could have a Zelda collection like we did for Mario, I still can't believe that never happened.
