Pixel Enemy: Jay Michaels of Pixel Enemy had a chance to speak with Tsubasa Inaba, Senior Producer for SCEA, about the changes to the engine, the gameplay, and a possible collectors’ edition.
Can't wait to platinum both :)
These two remastered games from last generation are actually on my top ten list of most wanted games next year. That is simply because they are two of my favorite games of all time and to get to play them with improved graphics and framerates is like a dream come true.
Added to my Wishlist.
I only played a little bit of SotC and none of ICO. It's really the only series on the PS2 that I overlooked. So I will be there day one, to make amends for my transgressions against this living artwork. I can't wait to immerse into these two games.
Have they announced a release window?
Spring 2011 is all we've got!
I'm definitely picking this up.
*GASP* COLLECTOR'S EDITION? holy....! :D
I doubt this will have a CE. That was just a suggestion from the interviewer!
True, though it did give me slight heart attack, seeing it in the headline, lol.
Thats when i got a PS2 but my 1st software was Jampack Summer 2001. One of the feature demos was ICO. And the part where you had to hold R1 to catch her hand was memorable considering my 1st attempt was either i accidently let go R1 or did it on purpose but of course she died lol. But my next attempt when she caught my hand and the controller shook was as u ppl say was "EPIC" but of course i never got this game but im looking forward to this collection. SOTC demo didn't impress me tough but i'll take a shot of taking down more colossus.
I didn't pay any of these because I didn't have PS2 that time... but heard a lot about these two games so I'm definitely getting them...
cant wait to get these babys im in process of bitching the sly trilogy and have pop trilogy waiting to play so roll on this collection and then hopefully the mgs and ff collections . I LOVE THE PS3 YEAHHHHH
same here bro. also working on Sly and can't wait to play PoP and this!
i cant friggin wait for this!!!!! Sotc is beyond epic!
Its a little sad to see all this unadulterated flattery for ICO and SotC now. Where was it when the games were released? I had both of these titles day 1 and wouldnt shut up about them. I was singing their praises to an empty room. They really should have been hits in their day. I suppose, at least they're getting the recognition they deserve now and a new gen of gamers get to try them, and I get to play them in a better form then they've every been in. As I've said before, its like watching The Godfather on Bluray which is pretty sweet for someone who grew up with the VHS version, (I cant believe we watched that blurry mess) and then saw them later on DVD. Unless you were at the actual cinema screening when they first released, this is the best possible way to watch it and the ICO collection is the same thing. Enjoy , all you uninitiated. I dont say that as an insult, if anything I'm jealous. You lucky bastards get to play these for the 1st time in HD. PS If you're an Xbox only owner (I cant even say "gamer") then its time. Drop the hate. I dont care if your Walkman chewed your Bananarama tape in 1987. 2011 is too much for a gamer to pass up.
At least it's time to correct those mistake now while we wait for last guardian . Better now than never , right ?
Exactly. I'm happy for everyone who missed out, and everyone who wants a second go round. Now if only Beyond Good and Evil can get some recognition.
I think the game was SO niche, nobody would've thought the majority of people who bought the game would've the same mindset. It was not only until the internet discussions became more prominent when ICO and SoTC seems to keep popping out left and right even though the game got NO GOTY awards nor did they have reviews as high as Uncharted 2. These games seems to resonate with the buyers how amazing and overlooked when discussed on the internet causing some sort of temporal "fan-shine" wherever those two games were discussed. It's one of those games that are really hated by fanboys simply because "over-rated" is a term you can't associate with it. Many have heard the games but only the select few were willing to purchase the game only to have positive receptions across the board. Said people who didn't buy the game are now regretting they weren't that open to other IP's back when it's released. Hopefully the ICO/SoTC would get the proper recognition they deserve when they hit store shelves by next week. A lot of people may have missed 1 or 2 of Ueda's collection but now this is their chance to finally get it. -End of Line
I've never played either, but i'm going to pick them up. I had heard great things:)
i hope i find time to play these fantastic games.
