Considering nintendo has been schooling ms and sony on sales for about 4 yrs that really isn't saying much is it.

So how many 360 exclusives are you looking forward to this yr, ms can "school" sony on sales in only 1 continent anytime.

There is no weekly sampling. VGcharts does not sample enough retailers to be credible. They are making guesstimates on an insignificant amount of retailers making their numbers pure guess work.

As for Xbox selling over a million consoles for November, this happens for all three manufacturers for the holidays. November and December make up a huge chunk of annual sales every year.

2.360 Fanboys will proclaim that the PS3 is doomed.

3.Japan numbers nullify the 100k

4.Europe numbers put PS3 over the top and shrink the gap for another month.

That my friend, is due to Kinect (I'm not really your friend, I don't think I've ever replied to you)...

The casuals are like ZOMG I don't need a controller so my 3 year old won't eat it (yes, some one on a news report says that...).

I have seen Kinect on countless news reports as it been labled as the best innovation since sliced bread, and the casuals lap it up without knowing anything else about it.

With the amount of news reports and a current affairs shows I've seen it on its no wonder why its not just selling the hardware but the 360 itself.

On the other hand; as GAMERS we care about GAMES and not sales. Do we get satisfaction out of seeing our favourite console win another month; no. We get satisfaction with the announcement of things like Uncharted 3 and the release of a good game.

In the end we should all be focusing on the games... and not the sales.

Considering there are more comments it seems on sales articles than strictly game articles, i have to wonder at times.

Attention certain dumbass americans, just because we think our region is the most important for gaming doesn't mean it actually is.

And sorry but till ms or sony start hitting wii sales figure, neither console numbers is especially noteworthy, good numbers but not worth breaking out the champagne over.

While Sony and Nintendo announce new games and devices, MS brags about sale numbers. If you follow N4G lately, most of the news is about the new PSP Phone, PSP2, 3DS, GT5, New games for 3DS, Killzone3 and so on, and every now and then you see "Greenberg hints at impressive Kinect numbers" or an article like this. And yet what truly amazes me is that Xbots (not true Xbox fans) are very happy about it.

I have no problem with people acting in favor of a company who produces the products they love, but many people who commented before me are just blinded fanboys. You love the Xbox 360 and defend because you love gaming on it (duh) but when there's no sign of good game coming out next year other than Gear3, you should question MS' capability of creating the kind of games that you love (unless you like flapping games like kinectimal... then I would wonder why didn't you get a Wii in the first place?).

Gaming in the US is shifting towards online, and in that area, there is no comparison. Yes I own a PS3; yes XBOX live is way better. So, even if there are no exclusives (yes, Sony is doing great), multiplatforms look better still and the online is better on 360.

I had a 360 years ago but it RRODed before I even started thinking about paying for LIVE. Therefore, I don't know if LIVE is much better than PSN or not. However, I'm totally satisfied with PSN and PS+ in term of online gaming and additional services like Netflix and Hulu. So, LIVE doesn't appeal to me as much as it does to you. Each to his own.

There are probably more multiplat games that look better on the 360 than games that look better on the PS3. True, but the majority of multiplat games look the same on both system under unaided eyes and some even look better on the PS3 like FF13 and Burnout. So it really boils down to exclusives. 90% of Sony's exclusives are AAA games, and they often win cross-platform game of the year awards. So, that's really something to weigh in when considering supporting a system, at least for me.

With what we've known so far, there are even more PS3 exclusives than decent multiplat games announced for next year. The PS3 is doing very good on the market. May be not as good as the 360 at this moment, but its future is bright and I think it's a reasonable excuse for PS3 owners to be happy about. I just can't say the same about the 360.

Come' on guys. MS did very well. Yes, 1.4 mill in a month (Wii did slightly less). For Sony fans that can't congratulate their adversary, chill out. Yes, they're tied in Europe, and PS3 is winning in the land of the rising sun. By the way, go back to when the 360 launched and you'll read about how MS knew they didn't have a chance in Japan. Anyway, great year for all consoles. Vudu on my PS3 rocks!

1.4 million is a lot. Lets not forget THIS IS ONLY IN NA which means MS has sold more in other parts of the world adding to that total.

This aren't even December numbers yet but i see the potential of the kinect. A whole new Audience= a $hit load of sales. If this is the case i see the 360 easily pulling away again from the ps3. Way to kill sony's slim.

Those are some very good numbers and will be hard for anyone to beat them worldwide this month if they keep there normal sales in the rest of the world. That said I really hope we learn soon what ms 2011 gaming line up will be. I know they announce it later and later every year but I will be worried for ms if the vgas go by without some new announcemnts. Sorry to say sony will hurt them badly with games if thet sit out next year and that lead will not last.

Can someone please explain why sony fans are so worried about ms 2011 lineup? It does not get brought up until they bring it up and its in every single article. I'm really not a fan of ms or sony but I prefer my ps3 but I don't for a second believe ms does not have nothing planned. They have done this every year and every year they have pulled it together so I will not doubt them. Please quit worring about who's beating who and worry about things that matter in life like your health and helping others. Great sales for Microsoft (if true), but could be a bad forecast for core gamers. We could speculate that Kinect based products seems to be driving their sales right now.

This may GREATLY shift Microsoft's priority to casuals and Kinect friendly games and leave the core gamers behind. Now I don't doubt there won't be Kinect titles that all will love, but I'm not willing to bet on any 360 exclusive IPs with the weight of Halo or Gears in the 360's future.

No trolling, just think about it, no 360 exclusive comes to mind that would drive these kinda sales. I give credit to the 360 redesign (which looks good and is rumored to work much better) paired with the new Kinect device and casual games. I know many of those games have reviewed badly, but how many shoppers read reviews? They just buy the newest shiny thing.
