IGN: Everything We Know About Wii 2

The Wii has now entered its fifth full year on the market. It first launched in America back in November of 2006, which means four years are behind it and the fifth is now beginning. You know what that means. A new system. Nintendo consoles have traditionally only lasted for about five years before the Big N has introduced a successor.

A wishlist of things I would like:

HD graphics
Optical out for digital sound
Classic and wii mote support for every game
An achievement system or something like it. Trophies ect
A harddrive
Better online system

Man if the Wii 2 did these things combined with games like Metroid, Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Sin and Punishment, Pokemon, ect. The Haters would have nothing to say on NIntendo.

I just read the entire article, and they know about as much as Sarah Palin concerning Wii 2. They do seem pretty convinced about 3D. What I'm sure of: it will be copied by some competitors after it sells out again...lol.

Well I feel like there are already far too many shooters. I look back at what made my Nintendo experiences so wonderful as a child and aside from Metroid (more platforming and puzzle) Goleneye (that they screwed on the Wii remake) none of the games are shooters. I rather games like Zelda, Mario, and other none shooters.

how the hell did they screw up golden eye wii ?? because its not exactly like the N64 version ?? ..if you want the N64 version play it on N64 .. the wii version is great for what it is.

Where the hell did you read that? Nintendo has actually confirmed that their next system will be HD, 1080p and all.

When talking about the Wii 2, Nintendo said that the "Wii successor will be MORE than just HD graphics."

They basically indirectly confirmed it.

That would mean the Wii would go from Gamecube graphics to better than PS3 graphics. The way Nintendo stays behind with processing speed, that's hard to see.

Well standard definition looks like ass on 32 inch+ tv without upscaling duh, hdds are essential for storage if nintendo wants a worthwhile online store like sony or ms has, and achievements/trophies add replay value to games regardless if you like or dislike them.

So your sick that gamers expect nintendo to finally get with the times and design the console for 2010+ and not the late 90's a second time. Thank god nintendo isn't setting the console standards for everyone else.
