Developer Creative Assembly still has ideas for the Total War franchise getting to consoles, at least in their periphery. The control scheme is 'already done'.
It's actually a matter of would it "sell on console?" It's RTS with a love of history and deeply rooted to PC. They're "looking at everything" for the future.
Backward compatibility works for many games on newer consoles, but titles such as The Simpsons: Hit and Run have been left out.

Would it sell? Probably not as much as on PC. But truth of the matter is that some of us console players would love to see a change in the norm for what's available at the moment. And if this does become a reality, I hope its not dumbed down just because its on consoles.
