PC Gamers, Once Again, Get The Short End of the Stick with Call of Duty: Blacks Ops – Report

Redmondpie: PC gamers used to get the absolute best games back in the day. I’m talking about pre-PS2 days here. The days when, if you wanted the best version of a multiplatform game, it was the PC that reviewers pointed to. This has, in most cases, completely reversed now. Publishers and developers prefer gaming consoles instead of PC because of the relatively less piracy and the greater demand. This issue can be seen in all its glory in the recently released Call of Duty: Black Ops.

It's sad to see this happening. I avoided consoles my entire gaming life and finally caved in last year. Got a 360 and a PS3. I love them both, but you shouldn't need a console when technically a decent PC will work just fine.

I don't think PC gamers got the short end of the stick especially not with such a non innovative game as MW2 or Black Ops. It's not a game that PC gamers play for the sheer fact that it's a straight arcade console port. Seriously don't expect PC gamers to buy this game when it sucks for one and two is just a port versus a PC specific game. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if the next Call of Duty PC lacked KB/M support.

Check the Counter Strike, Team Fortress 2, and Bad Company 2 servers and you will see where the PC gamers are.

While I have a PS3, I will always be a PC player first. However, how do you blame the devs? They are following the money. They are selling more on the consoles except for some key titles (Wow,Starcraft...etc). Look at Black Ops - Consoles have 3 million users a day when peaking while steam is peaking at 100K - 150K a day. I am trying to do my part. If the game is multiplatform, I will always get the PC version even if the game is better suited for the console.

I do not think PC gaming is dead nor is it going to go away, I just think the Devs will follow the money and put the effort where they get the most money. What could change the game in favor of the PC is if we see things like iPad take more casuals away from spending money on consoles. Even if the person has an iPad they will have a computer for other things. (I know - Long Shot)

I'm sticking with PC Gaming.

Ape Escape.
Fun game but, wow, you need a college degree to understand the controls.
A remaster would also save you from having to constantly fight the camera.
Keep the music though. Those drum and bass tracks fit really well and haven't aged. Made me think that more games could work well with drum and bass tracks, but unfortunately it's a somewhat niche genre now.

Black ops 4, because it was the last cod of duty I was able to dominate with a +2 k/d ratio. Before all the freaking cheating started to happen. It was nice catching people off guard and shooting at them first and getting the kill. Unlike now, where I shoot people first, but they gun me down with less hits, less time, literally feels like they can kill me in a split second. At times, they are able to run away after me shooting them way more than necessary, yet, the second I'm spotted, I'm dead, there's no me running away to cover. They can do cartwheels, summersaults, backflips and gun you down perfectly. They can shoot you across the map with perfect accuracy. They can jump around like morons and gun you down without even having to correct their aim. They have superman split second perfect reactions. That's the best way to describe it, everything they do is spot on perfect. They can spam and spray (no praying) their gun from far away, because they have no recoil or bullet spread. It always feels like I have to aim and also correct my aim when moving around, while these pricks don't have to do the same.

And yes, I know how to play fps games. I dominated many fps games like: Resistance 1&2, kz 2&3, Socom, MAG, Crysis, Gotham City Impostors, blitz brigade etc. all with 2-4 k/d ratio. Kz2 (lag input controls) and resistance (no aim assist in resistance) being the hardest and were the games I reached either close to a 3 k/d ratio or above.

I truly got to enjoy blacks ops 4 and got my money's worth out of it. Afterwords, I would either stop playing cod games after a while, because of the cheating, or would skip buying cod games for a year or two before buying another.
