G4TV: Gran Turismo 5 is finally here, and in many ways it's exactly the game that series fans have been waiting for; however, the game's failure to keep up with the growth of the genre is disappointing.
What do the reviewers expect, the player to have the ability to squirt a turtle shell out the back end in order to force your opponent off the road? Sheesh!
You know I always love the hypocrisy of people especially those who rate things, its really funny to see so many websites justify giving Fallout: New Vegas a 9/10 or a 4/5 even with the insane number of bugs(I know because I caved and bought the PC version and I know the patches helps a lot but that's after the fact). They say its still an incredible game with so much to do, great story, gameplay and voices etc.
Yet with GT5 they do the opposite by pointing out the problems, which are no where even remotely close to the problems I got with New Vegas and rate it down because of them in spite of the game itself being bigger, better and more incredible than all other racers out there(yes thats a bit of bias on my part but you get the picture).
Now before people go saying the games are not the same as one is racing and other open world RPG, its not the games I'm comparing but the rating system when dealing with certain problems with these games and how a reviewer's frame of mind towards the games they review BEFORE actually reviewing it greatly impacts on the review and score.
I've tried most of GT5. A-spec, B-spec, arcade, licences (all 60 gold), online, track editor, photo mode and personal bgm. GT delivered on more than I anticipated in every aspect of the game and I rate it a 10/10. It does what is supposed to do and does it very well.
Sorry, but I disagree. Not all the cars have the same grade of finishing. Some cars don't even have a cockpit view. The online mode is a mess when you wanna race against friends. You need to unlock the damage model? Whats that all about??? Imo, instead of filling the BR disc with al kinds of racing disciplines, Polyphony should have concentrated on the basic of the game so each car would looked as gorgeous as only a part does now.
gaming is crap now, the ps2, gamecube, xbox era was and will be the last great year of game.(at the rate were going)more and more, we get crap for games that are just a waste of time, more and more dumb ass market tactics, retarded damn yearly games that just seem to never have bugs fixed, or are rushed. developers releasing broken games then fixing them 5 months later, most dont even do anything. video gaming has become so big now all everyone is looking on how to make the next few million. Now people could care less, so many people believe anything read on the internet. Im related to barry bonds, atleast 50 people will believe it. gay ass reviews that are just nitpicking to make a game look bad, wtf no one pulled this crap last gen. so funny that FANBOY, annoying fanboys will never shut the F**K up about a game being a flop if its under a 9, anything from 8-9 last gen was fucking fine, what made this gen so diffrent games like GTA Iv, Crap of duty, fallout that did nothing but bring bugs and crap and still get praised but gt 5 comes out and is bad mouthed because it took its time to perfect physics, god gaming is a sad place now, i was a gaming geek, now im a person wanting to leave game cause of this/ sorry for my rant had to let my feeling for my old past time out
one more thing GT 5 is the greatest cause i have seen a mild improvement in my real life driving from racing in GT 5
Well, I respect everyone's opinion, but this game is massive and enjoyable! Then again, I love cars. Still. Isn't that how the game should be reviewed?
Ok 360 owners you guys win, we will give you this one, make fun of GT5 scores, but just know that chickens do eventually come home to roost..
In other words, i dont want to hear you guys whine and complain come next year when PS3 is churnning out AAA exclusives every month of next year while you guys patiently sit and wait for November to come so you can enjoy your one big game for next year.
Do you hear yourself? You make people who play games out as factions at war. Your whole comment makes you look like a fool with no life who is content with just flinging shit at people who don't play the same things that you do.
Lol @fanboys up top.
AT least there trolling here and not in the gamespot review.
I love this game so much. ^_^
Has anyone that's tried it not enjoyed it?
GT5 simply didn't deliver on what was hoped (or hyped for that matter) by the fans.
