Hasbro Inc.’s Wizards of the Coast, best known for the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop games, has cancelled at least five video game projects as it scales back its ambitions in the industry.
Disappointing.
We could use a few more D&D titles on shelves.
The only major one out there right now is Baldur's Gate 3.
Well they did a very good job of handling Magic the Gathering's 30th Anniversary. The 4 packs of proxy cards for $1000 was so well received last year that Hasbro stock price dropped 40%.
Despite its storied history, it has been hard to make a good Magic: The Gathering video game. Even the best-ranked game isn't very good.
A new G.I. Joe game is in development for a multiplaform release over at Wizards of the Coast, but we'll likely have to wait a while to play it.
