No car manufacturer invokes a passion quite like Ferrari, and the outfit's video game history holds a similar prestige. Yu Suzuki is a notorious fan of the Italian designers, placing their cars in starring roles with the amazing Outrun and F355 Challenge games. There hasn't been a dedicated Ferrari game since Sega's three-screen arcade classic was released in 1999, and another development studio is now ready to take the famous horse to the latest generation of consoles. GameSpot went to Italy to see how System 3, a British company with relatively little pedigree, aims to bring the famous racing stallion to Sony's PlayStation 3.
GamesRadar writes: "System 3 is rewarding existing owners of Ferrari Challenge on PS3 by reducing the cost of its sequel, Ferrari: The Race Experience for its release on PSN tomorrow. It's not a massive reduction in price, as fans get it for £9.99 instead of £11.99, but a lot of companies would do well to follow their example."
Sounds like a great idea, doesnt have to be a huge difference but anything is always appreciated. Only issue i see with this is that you can only really do this with DLC type games that are tied to an account.
lol i dont know whats happening with this game, first its release date was 29/09, then delayed by 1 week and today its still not released
All Age Gaming's Phong Nguyen brings us the fifth edition of All Age Gaming's "The Week That Was". This week saw more PS3 slim rumours, dominant Wii sales and information on the 360's NXE update. Let's get stuck into it.
System 3 published new screenshots and artwork from the DLC of Ferrari Challenge that will arrive in May. Check them out.
SO THE PS3 IS FINALLY COMING ALONG.I'LL TAKE ANY GAME I CAN GET I DONT CARE
GT5 Prolouge are looking way better than Ferrari Challenge, but i hope this game turns out good, but with only one brand i am not sure
This title would have done better on the 360 IMO. With the acquisition of Ferrari by Polphony for GT I don't see why they'd pursue another exclusive. While there was nothing like playing Ferrari Challenge in the arcades back in the day even if they support a wheel like the G25 they'll be a ways off. I can't speak with experience on what we can expect from this title in regards to physics but I doubt it'll be a FM or GT killer.
Whatever happens I hope to see this update in an arcade cabinet.
