IGN: Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom Review

Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom tells a sad but clichéd tale with an endearing giant and his friend at the helm of it. This “puzzle platformer” won’t give you too much of a problem as the solutions are simple, but finding every collectible in the world will take quite a bit of effort. It's not without frustrations, but journeying with the goofy monster is an adventure most people will get a kick out of.

I have mixed feelings about this game, the demo game play seems alright but the story sounds epic

BiggCMan4992d ago

I really enjoyed the demo. I will eventually play and beat this game, just not now.

rdgneoz34992d ago

On the bright side, its only gonna cost you 40 new.

Odin7774992d ago (Edited 4992d ago )

Yeah I thought it was decent from the demo, although I agree with the review, the voice-work for the monster-dude is atrocious.

badz1494992d ago

aside from the voice of the Majin, the game itself is like a breath of fresh air. Folklore was overseen by many but it's a great game and this will be another great game from them!

xXxSeTTriPxXx4992d ago

i agree, this could be a good buy(for me).from the review it sounds like a good game with some minor issues depending on what type of gamer you are.

and with a $40 price tag, it sounds like a win to me.

Folklore was by Sonys first party... This is by Ban Dia.. Completly differnt copmpanys. Anyways on topic the review score seems right it seems an average game.

I hope I get this one in the mail soon. I'm really interested in this game. Although this is a mediocre review there have been some more shining reviews so I want to ty it out and see if it's worth the time.

blackburn54992d ago

The reviews are so strange. Some people are giving perfect scores and others are giving it slightly above average. The demo was okay but I wonder if it really is that great a game? These type of review score drive me crazy. All the more reason to start ignoring them more I suppose

Newtype4992d ago

Wasn't this ported to the 360? Isn't that the reason for the bad sound?

Raider694992d ago (Edited 4992d ago )

This game is equal on both platforms! The xbox 360 version is a little more dark in the gamma display but can be fix to tv settings! They simply dont match 1:1 palette colour and gamma one against the other! But thats all!

Thought I was the only one who remembered Trinity lol very underrated

Yui_Suzumiya58d ago

WET and Quantum Theory were both phenomenal

P_Bomb58d ago

I remember Stranglehold! One of the first DLC packs of its time. A bit expensive, but cheap by today’s standards.

Chocoburger58d ago

Another PS3 hidden gems list, and yet again Time Crisis 4 and Time Crisis Razin' Storm get snubbed. Such fun games, that shouldn't be forgotten. If only we got a home port of Time Crisis 5: Mastermind Edition.

WET is something I wish they'd remake, they had so many great ideas but not all of them were executed properly

It had a lot of potential

Also Wanted Weapons of Fate is another game that had some new fun gameplay ideas.
