3D support mysteriously absent from PS3 version of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

Despite having being announced by the developers themselves back in June and even demonstrated during the last E3 2010, the PlayStation 3 version of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit lacks a stereoscopic 3D mode.

OH NO! (yep, sarcasm at its finest)

Edit: that mofo NBT91 below knew what i meant "+1 to u buddy"

CountDracula5332d ago

haha?

Anyway. It will probably be in an update that will be up shortly.

Perjoss5332d ago

kind of the same story with the PC. 3D support is broken for now, doesn't look very good with Nvidias glasses, but hopefully they will add a profile and some driver for it.

Anyways, the game is poop, stay away unless you enjoy driving models like Ridge Racer or Outrun2006 (no manual gears and perfect hairpins at top speed) Game has been quite boring for me so far after 3 hours of play. Far inferior to Most Wanted.

NBT915332d ago

OH NOOOOOO! Guess we'll have to "make do" with Gran Turismo 5 in 3D 1080P and 60FPS.

Cevapi885332d ago

along with head tracking and move support

Hell-Helghast5332d ago

NBT91 that deserves a bubble.

Substance1015332d ago

Lol for what? for spreading misinformation? GT5 in 3D is not 1080p and 60fps.

Guys, NFS:HP is a really good game. I picked it up today and played 3 hours straight!

This is coming from a long time GT fan (all the way back to GT1), do yourselves a favour and get both games.

Both games are/will be great games for their own reasons. And I can tell you from first hand experience, NFS:HP is awesome. Will also be getting GT5 day one.

NBT915332d ago (Edited 5332d ago )

I wasn't saying NFS was bad, I was referring to how it doesn't play in 3D on the PS3 version. I do in fact plan on getting NFS and GT5 next Wednesday when I pick up a logitech DFGT Wheel to play them both the way they were meant to be :).

Boody-Bandit5331d ago

I am a wheel racing fanatic and NFS doesn't support them. No cockpit views, no manual transmission, no wheel support or force feedback, no customisation.

Most racing games support wheels. Hell Shift wasone of the better wheels games I have played this generation. The FFB I got from Shift was excellent! I ended up playing and completing it on all formats.

NFS:HP is a full on gas and go racer.
I love pure arcade racers but they need wheel support or they are very short lived. I blew thru Blur (both versions) and Split Second in a little over a week.

"Guess we'll have to "make do" with Gran Turismo 5 in 3D 1080P and 60FPS."

The 3D version of GT5 does not run in 1080p60.

Boody-Bandit5331d ago (Edited 5331d ago )

No but it's still 3D and the game looks flat out amazing.

I personally can't wait to try it in 3D. Now all I have to do is purchase a 3D display and a PS3 camera for head tracking. If I am patient I will probably be able to get both in a bundle deal for Christmas.

Kyur4ThePain5332d ago

"having being announced"...are you bloody kidding me?

iWaggleVR5332d ago

whoops. sorry about that. fixed in the main story. can't fix it here anymore.

lzim5332d ago

Are you people making shots at PD and Criterion for making the most of aging consoles or are you going to play the games anyway?

Absolutely insane. Man I'm hope they land on their feet EA needs to get the shit together badly....

This is why this industry has slow releases and none compelling games.

Why would anyone willingly work in the VG industry or specifically for one of these globocorp organizations that put you in constant fear of losing your livelihood based on terrible choices made by idiotic management, not the people with talent making the actual games?
