Why Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is in Trouble

With the release of Ubisofts powerhouse addition to the Assassin's Creed series dropping today, the question remains: Will Assassin's Creed Brotherhood be able to pull players away from Call of Duty: Black Ops? I can already hear you saying, "Ubisoft has released its previous Assassin's Creed titles during blockbuster release times and they did really well", but there is a major difference this time around.

Ubisoft has a reputation for releasing games at horrible times

jjohan352984d ago

I'm pointing out the obvious by saying this, but it's not Ubisoft's fault if they don't have enough room on the disc. That belongs to the console that WON'T support a high capacity format.

catguykyou2984d ago (Edited 2984d ago )

Where did that come from? Who said they didn't have enough room on the disk? The game is very very big and has tons of game-play. I don't think they were hurting for disk space.
Never did Ubisoft state they had to get rid of single player content to make room for the multiplayer stuff. This is merely speculation from this website/blog. Reviews for the game have even gone as far as to say it's almost too long as it starts to get repetitive toward the end. This AC has the most content out of any of the previous games and a longer single player.

wtf are you talking about? what a stupid comment. troll much? this game is huge.

Wardog13682984d ago

Clearly, neither of you read the article. The Article brings up disc space. He is the intelligent one responding to the article. Not a title. Please read before commenting.

thats why the 360 is dead hardware

catguykyou2983d ago (Edited 2983d ago )

What was meant to be said and gets somewhat clarified in my comment later is Ubisoft never said they had issues with disk size.

I could write that AC2 single player was entirely coded by a monkey in a swimsuit on my facebook then link it as news on this site and people would take it as fact apparently. The guy in the article only speculates that content was cut and never says he read/heard it from ubisoft nor offers any proof, just speculation.
Whats really funny is the author bashes the multiplayer saying it will ruin the game then goes on to advertise his own site for people to go to for strats on the multiplayer part of the game.

it sold 8million units in the wake of cod mw and and as2 sold around 8million units aswell.

Keith Olbermann2984d ago

I know they are two different types of games but personally, Im spending my money on GT5 and renting AC brotherhood.

Lucreto2984d ago

The game sold over 8 million and the economy was in the pits last year. It will do fine.

From the reviews the single player was not affected with the addition of multiplayer. They have 5 studios working on the game so the man power is there.

mistajeff2984d ago

man, someone's cranky. no one asked for similar features in a metal gear game, but peace walker was freaking incredible.

i'm enjoying it so far. i won't touch the multiplayer, but last year's cliffhanger left me craving more story, so i'm glad i'm getting it.

BrianC62342984d ago

This guy is a moron. Only so much room on a disc? Maybe a DVD but Blu-ray has tons of space. And not everyone wants Black Ops. I'm not buying that game and I already got Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. I'm sure the game will sell fine.

Redlogic2984d ago

I'm not interested in the slightest in Black Ops but I did get Brotherhood. From everything I read, nowhere did I read anything about the game lacking content. As a matter of fact its a good 20-25 hours worth of missions and side missions. Plus spending time building your own order of assassins will eat up a good amount of time as well. I know I spent plenty of time on building my army in Peace Walker.
