Nearly a week after release, Call of Duty: Black Ops still suffers significant performance issues, and recently, fatal errors have plagued players worldwide. What's being done, and where can we look from here?
Currently experiencing very frequent Fatal Errors and crash to console. Hoping for effective fixes as soon as possible for the PC platform!
is a glitchy mess. I didn't want this one. But I don't get why all the problems that plagued MW2 showed up here.
I've been getting the same errors off and on all day today...really starting to get old.
I've been getting the Fatal errors whenever I minimize. CoD:BO HATES, I repeat, HATES Alt+Tab lol.
The game suffers from unplayable lag a lot of the time.
An yet people still continue to support COD.... You keep buying faulty products then they will keep providing more faulty products because they know quality dont matter to u people
you're right but i disagreed bc you wrote "you people"...
I knew I made the right choice by not purchasing this game. This franchise will be the Tony Hawk of gaming in a few years. :P
I stuck with MOH. But KZ3 is coming along and Homefront, Crysis 2. I think there are enough on the horizon for me to forget this franchise.
I doubt it will ever get to that point, however serious changes need to be implemented for Activision and Call of Duty to remain on top.
I have beem playing this CoD for the last 2 days for many hours and still I have not seem a single bug or crash. The online in this game have been a great smooth experience so far for me. BTW I loved that this game is 1080p( or at least upscaled to it) because all other FPS I got for my PS3 are 720p max. I also want to understand where the PS3 version sucks in graphics because to me it is very beautifull. Ok, it does not have all the uber animation of a KZ2 but still this one runs in 720p only.
Black Ops is running at 600p and 544p on console, and Killzone 2 and 3 look significantly better than any of the console CoDs
For a small LCD TV (21-32") the PS3 version looks good, but on a 40"+ like mine the graphics look coarse, grainy, and jagged (but colorful). I can really notice because I am mainly playing on PC but I bought a PS3 copy to start working on my controller skills, which I admit I am very much of a novice.
the game crashed on me 3x times on PS3, that i had to turn the console off...
My disc won't load certain maps (Cracked, Nuketown) and the loading bar fills fully to the end then there is the spinning loading symbol at the end of the bar and it doesn't load at all. Happens on both these two maps and I have to go to the dashboard then restart the game if I want to play on it, I can't join other friend's games to get out of the loading screen it's a huge pain in the arse. Grrr.
My only issue with Black Ops is that it wouldn't run on my PS3 Slim. It works on my Phat but would just be a black screen on my slim. Reconfigured my display settings on PS3 and it now works.
display on my PS3 slim and it worked.
it's worked flawlessly on 360 minus a few lag issues but I expected those right now
Really Laggy! and Buggy Am thinking why has activision decided to provide dedicated servers for PC instead of console? PC version sold like shit compared to console version, so What gives? Dumb business move
PCs always get dedicated servers (well, except for MW2 and it raged the PC community). It's mostly expected for a PC game to have dedicated servers. Consoles however, generally are P2P, with Dedicated servers appearing in a few games. So it isn't exactly a business move. They just did what normally happens. ... that and cutting a deal with gameservers probably earned them some benefits. (Since the majority of them are rented by individuals)
"Connexion to the host has been lost" well thanks " moving to another host" ok let's resume (10 sec later ) " Connexion to the host has been lost " what's this?? it happened to me yesterday as i was trying the game ..and that's just one of the thing i find unacceptable in BO multiplayer ..
Well i had minimal lag out of the gate... and i fixed it before the patch with a few tweaks ... after the patch only the kill cam is laggy. HOWEVER ive seen hackers with aimbot in 2 servers so far.. I wanted to record them but for some reason my theater didnt record those matches,.,.. shoulda used fraps Zombies is another story.. since i can only play one match then i have to restart black ops to join another match without errors
Am yet to see any real significant hacking, however the kill can is ridiculously laggy and I have NO idea what Treyarch had to do to fuck that portion up so bad. One of the most satisfying items in SnD etc. is seeing a well done or miraculous game winning kill. Currently on PC it's as if the killer was on crack in a timewarp.
I don't know people get so optimistic, when being pessimistic is so much more reliable.
Then again, where would the world be if everyone thought like this?
I disagree, the graphics of KZ2 are indead better then the ones found in this last CoD. But the resolution to me does all the difference (to me at least) because KZ2 used to looks great when I had a 720p LCD TV but now in a Led full HD tv it does not look as good as this CoD . Just look behind the box of KZ2 and it says support up to 720p/1080i while Black ops does up to 1080p. If it is upscaled or not I don t know, just know that it looks more beautifull resolution. A game such Heavy Rain says on the box that it does 720p only BUT on my TV it appears as 1080p and it looks really good indead on that way. Uncharted 2 and GoW3 are just like KZ2 = 720p/1080i Max ( For me with a full HD TV it does make quite noticable difference. Not saying that all the uber animation of Uncharted 2 is not better then Black ops but the resolution is lower in UC2 and that thing bothers me. UC2,GoW3 and KZ2 would be super cool looking( more then they are atm) if they had some kind support to 1080p. Gladly KZ3 seems to be compatible with 1080p TVs :)
should have kept playing reach instead.
