I like the PS3, but I also like games on the 360. I think Peter Molyneux is a very creative person and has great ideas, black and white is still one of my favorite games. People let their brand loyalty get in the way of their logic...
Molyneux is always very honest and humble, why people dislike him so hard? I love PS but have to admit that I haven't read a single declaration from SONY devs about liking Halo or some other MSFT franchise (not many I know)
Molyneux do this very often, he's a game designer before a MSFT employee unilke many people that defend their consoles to death.
People hate on him so much, is because of all the untrue hype he spreads about his games. He as hailed all 3 fable games as the best rpgs ever, and while they are quite good, they can hardly ever be considered "best rpg ever."
At least he realizes he acts like an asshat sometimes (he acts like an asshat sometimes is what I mean), unlike some other people we know.

Thankfully, the fable series is being put to rest for a while. Fable 1 and Fable 2 were both truly enjoyable games but Fable 3 was just an utter disappointment despite the game's excellent writing throughout. Hopefully, Molyneux moves on to bigger and better things and supports the PC as much as the Xbox brand.
The first part of your comment doesnt make sense, how do you explain sotc? Shure ico was great but sotc was a improvement in every way. Thats the reason so maney people are waiting for tlg, as opposed to maney other developers uedas games actually get better each time.
one dev shows respect and appreciation for another and you pricks cant help yourselves.
“You go back to that title and have a look at it – there were no icons on screen to speak of, the story was told in such an amazing way, it was told without language, it was incredibly iconic, the environment still is one of the most mystical, enchanting environments ever made"
This site has no credibility - "We reckon he’s already made a game that’s pretty much in ICO’s league, though. Fable III, which released recently, scored a whopping 9.5 out of 10 here at BeefJack."
They think those games are in the same league, I stay very far from this site.
shame most of you kids cant name a single game molyneux has made that isnt fable. mebe if you could you would understand why this guy is all over the place like all the other iconic game devs.
arguably his move to console development hasnt been so kind to him, but its alot more hostile with its fanboy wars. being under MS control cant help either.
Its good to see dev who respect each others work and find inspiration in it. I love the Fable series and think they are among the best, most fun, enjoyable rpgs. Good job on Fable 3, streamlined yes, better, hell yes. Much bigger and just smoother gameplay.
I like the whole quote, but I can't help but think "Then why the heck aren't you making something like Ico? You're a project manager with plenty of cash to spend, so why can't you make that decision and hire some creative staff? What, is some overarching company paying you too much money to dumb the Adventure RPG genre down to toddler-level? Oh wait..."
Here's an idea: Take some advice from Demon's Souls and go back to making games that challenge the player instead of coddle the player. You liked the "hand-holding mechanic" in Ico, but you're doing it wrong - the characters held hands in Ico; Ico didn't hold the player's hand. Shoot for Ico after you have that challenge thing out of the way.
Fable in the same league as ICO? I really wish people would stop just taking random games in two different genres and try to make comparisons. How is Fable like ICO in anyway? Why do people compare UC2 with Mass Effect and GT5 with Black OPS? Just because Fable may be a good game how does that put it up there with a emotional classic story like ICO? I don't see your logic? Think before you write. @ BabyTownFrolics. yes your attitude shows your much better. Your attack isn't negative at all.
There is so MUCH you can do in that game it's ridiculous! When I played fable 2 I did it just for the story since I like it. Beautiful world, awesome characters and magic and interesting good vs evil idea.
In Fable 3 I'm actually going out of my way to play it doing different things and it's overwhelming. There is so many things I want to do but not yet not yet haha.
He deserves more props than what he gets. IMO the Fable series are a work of art.
Peter made games as good, if not better (subjectively of course, everyone has their own tastes), than ICO LONG before ICO.
Everything under Bullfrog was a critical and commercial success. Every Fable and Black and White under Lionhead has been a critical and commercial success.
Peter's entire gaming career has been marked by innovation, revolution, evolution and success.
I guess he just really likes the simplicity of ICO. It seems that he has gone for that type of simplicity with the Fable games. Simple UI, intuitive game play, and good simple story telling.
But you can't do it molyneux. You've had the budget to do so, several times, and you eff it up every time.
Considering how his series go, it seems he'd be better making a new IP, for each game he makes... then Microsoft can outsource the work on the sequels, because he simply can't improve on a good game. They just get worse.
Lol! Nice to know a site named: "beefjack" (seriously, is it a front for Slim Jim manufacturing or a gay bar for dudes who dig assless chaps?) thinks Fable 3 is on par with Ico. I can assure you that Ico will be remembered as a landmark title long after Fable's reign in the bargain bin has been forgotten.
I disagree with his games and promises but I agree with him on ICO. It's a developer dream to make a masterpiece that don't impress sales chart but gameplay and creativity.
@maxcer I would like to take this time to point out that that article is the worst piece of shit I have ever read. You people are deluded. It was the Xbox people that stated this crap. We respected our fellow gamers until you guys came and made this into a blood feud. We ard always have to be told to be put in our place because of the 'Sony is third' BS? While 360 people go on and on about their 3 year RROD piece of junk as if it is superior? Nintendo made a cheaply made system and it still held together better than a 360 did. I figured Destructoid would be the one saying which fanboy was worse. What about the 360 fanboys who cried for months and jumped on every article for MGS4? What about the years of Sony is doomed, Bluray is doomed articles 360 fanboys cheered on. What about them constantly pissing on UC2 because it won GOTY? What about them constantly making comparisons that no one cares about? What about them downplaying all the $hit Microsoft does. Just GTFO with that garbage. No fanboy is better
I think he means he wants to make a game of similar quality to Ico not a game like Ico. He should be admired for still having the ambition and drive at his age!
Plus Fumita Ueda has far more self respect than to churn out Ico 2 so I wouldn't hold your breath for that.
As if he is not allowed to create such a game in his current role.
Creative stranglehold? Or Moaning jealousy.
If he wants to create something in the same league as ICO, then he should stop having such a high mainstream focus for his games. I don't know if it's His or Microsofts fault, but this man has the potential for something special (which was evident in the past), but it has been slowly but surely declining into...mediocrity. Unfortunately.
Try to make a game like ICO then.
Anything's better than the stale-ass Fable games.

...Make something as good as ICO and then die, who's stopping ya?
you can't.
so..
