Metro: "Picture yourself at the meeting: you're a Warner Bros. big cheese and you've just found out that EA have given up the rights to make games based on The Lord Of The Rings. Few franchises have had as much influence on gaming down the years as Tolkien's fantasy epic, so you get out the chequebook and it's suddenly all yours. But what do you then do with what in theory should be a licence to print money? Why, you make a child-friendly action adventure on the Wii of course."
OX writes: "Middle Earth: Shadow of War is the sequel to sleeper hit Shadow of Mordor, that once again sees you play as a ranger called Talion who has the soul of legendary elf lord Celebrimbor living inside him. If early impressions are correct, it's shaping up to be very good. This breaks with the tradition of faintly rubbish Tolkien games, as we find out later in the show."
"It has been a long time coming however finally this is the week that Halo: Reach will drop. Granted this is the game that will probably eat up most of my gaming time this week there are plenty of titles out there for those of you who dislike the Halo franchise.
Disclaimer: Release dates subject to change.
My Pick This Week: Halo Reach – 9/14"
I can't believe that Halo Reach is finally coming out this week! I am ready for a lot of showerless days.
