I think it was around the six hour mark when I felt my attitude to Deadly Premonition softening. Up to that point, I’d treated it as a broken curiosity, filled with repetitive gameplay, irritating controls and graphics that you could be forgiven for thinking had come off a Dreamcast promo video. Deadly Premonition is a weird, weird cocktail that doesn't go down smooth for everyone, but it's still absolutely worth sampling.
It’s sooooo janky but the story is so good and the agent is so quirky I loved it thouroughly, the story is that good that you can actually make it through all of its jankiness and issues .

Are they? You are fixed on Japanese games that are anime based/fashioned. Perhaps if you were not playing games that are similar to the animes that inspired them you would have more/different experiences.
When Cliche and Troupes are the building blocks, you can’t expect much. Just like you cannot expect good case study when the tester/observer has practically no variance in test subjects.
Sooooo many horror games out there... you really gotta explore some more.
