EA: Medal Of Honor "Absolutely A Clear Success, A Franchise Now Once Again"

EA CEO John Riccitiello has said that the recent Medal of Honor “is absolutely [a] clear success”.

And that means follow-up games. “… Consumer feedback has been strong to suggest that we’ve got a franchise now, once again, that we could successfully and effectively sequel in the future,” he said.

I lost some BFBC2 friends to this game, tried it for some time but couldn't get into it, too much camping, and too easy to camp.

They said they would do better next time. I think they can now that they have a foundation to work on.

I for one am glad it was a success. Now they have a big chance to become #1 again. Hopefully they dont skrew it up...

There's a difference between quality and how much they made off it. The game's quality could of been MUCH better, but in terms of money it was a success.

They got lucky as not too many games can get away with that, especially in FPS, but if they make a MoH2, they REALLY need to pick up the pace this time and cannot screw up.

Hold up. I have to ask this because I simply want to understand.. MOH has too much camping, but BFBC2 doesn't? I like BFBC2, but that game is a camper's paradise.

You can find the campers in BFBC2 and deal with them, and it's easier to avoid their line of fire. But that is much more difficult in MOH.

I did camp myself in MOH and hostiles kept walking straight past me without a clue, I kept killing them until I ran out of ammo from my rifle and even my pistol.

But even so, some of my friends moved on to MOH and stayed in it.

EA will not release the figures just yet and they call it a success after saying MOH did not meet expectations..
The only time I will consider the next MOH is if they create an engine from scratch and stop using DICE.
I can get the same gaming experience from Bad company 2 so whats the point?
Call of duty uses pretty much the same engine, but they change the game fairly drastically.
I like bad company 2, but there is no way I would even consider buying MOH when bad company 2 is better. Create an engine from scratch and then we can talk.

Danger Close is going to be making it. I think now that fundation is set, they will take over making the online portion too and DICE will just be there to assist them with technical stuff.

I give it a 7.5 out of 10. Its a good start but they really need to blow the doors wide open in the next installment if they want to compete with the other big FPS market share wise.

I do wonder if they will get Respawn to work on the next MOH.

But two things I REALLY hate about the multiplayer, the snipers plus the low recoil on the guns. It feels a bit like I was playing an airsoft game than fighting in Afghanistan, lol. :P

It's hard to get excited about a game that sits so in the comfort zone of average FPS to a depressing extent. You just know Black Ops is going to be bigger, flashier and somewhat more memorable, though I guess these things live and die by their multiplayer really.

It isn't that bad tbh. Just need more polishing and more stuff such as guns, longer story, etc. Hopefully the next one is great improvement.

When EA said that this would be competing with COD, I didn't know it was for the "Shortest Single-Player Campaign" award. I know that the Multiplayer part is their main selling point, but if they care so little about the SP, why didn't they just devote all of their resources into making a solid MP? I know I'm not the only one who thinks the SP part is very underwhelming, considering the fact that they were hyping the "explosive, exciting and heart-warming campaign".

This MOH was the buggiest, glitchiest piece of filth ever to be released to the public. I was in the beta for this game and tried to post as many bugs as I could but it didn't matter because if not all the bugs I pointed out remained in the game. If they do this BS one dev company makes single player and another makes multiplayer again I hope no one buys it. This franchise need 1 dedicated team to work on the ENTIRE game. A custom game engine would be nice also.
