My first scary game was Half Life 2. Whoa! That Ravenholm had me shaking for hours after. My love for scary games and movies started right there.

After that my library grew past Fear, Doom, Dead Space and, of course, Left 4 Dead. I also questioned myself as to why is there pleasure in this apparent pain?

Modern living has prevented us from having the adrenaline and adventures experienced in earlier times. That's why humans attempt dangerous things today (like parkour, climbing Everest, etc.), simply to satisfy their desire of danger or adventure.

Gaming is so popular because it immerses player in a virtual world, where they can 'live' as they please. In the end, we enjoy to be scared because of our survival instinct. There was no better games for me than L4D, simply because it was me,my gun,3 friends and a whole world of brain-eating zombies. Scare-games, for me, is all about the intense survival required.

Maybe that is why multiplayer in Call of Duty is so popular?

because you get to stockpile stuff and feel special when you find bullets. games like dead space and AW on the hardest mode were cool. But I love old RE and silent hill games.

Because being scared is fun. I have a date tomorrow with a girl who loves horror movies, lets hope my film collection scares her into bed, wink wink nudge nudge, ha!
