Okamiden mans up for US box art

Examiner: "In the great tradition of Kirby and the original Okami, Capcom has opted to change the box art for the US release of Okamiden. It's common practice to change bits and pieces of box art for different regions to fit cultural standards, but for whatever reason, games like Okamiden have to be toughened up for the American audience."

A lot of US covers seem to miss the point of the game or look worse than their European or Japanese counterparts.

It's not the first time I see it, ICO is a great exemple of that, so is Heavy Rain.
But yeah the one I really can't understand is Zero/Project Zero/Fatal Frame.

What I want to know is who would think that it is necessary to change a box art?
The only box art people should see is what the original developpers intended it to be.
Don't get me started on Crash Bandicoot's box arts in Japan...
