NowGamer get their hands on the Killzone 3 multiplayer beta to find out what changes have been made, detailing everything you need to know that could make Killzone 3 the most anticipated shooter of next year...
The Mechs look awesome. Can't believe how much grittier than Halo this looks - wish I had a beta code :(
So do i my friend, so do i. Yet, (somehow) it continues to allude me(cry) EDIT: Sure seems like EVERYONE has a code but ME! F-in SUCKS! All day, everyday i read/see KZ3 KZ3 KZ3(its actually turning me away from the game) Leaving a bad taste in my mouth! Moreover a memory i shall never forget. Yeah yeah i know that no one cares. ONLY cuz u ALL get to play! Games are my LIFE! & THIS BS does NOT sit well w/ ME! @ALL
& you wouldnt believe how good it actually looks.
I was shock at how good the KZ3 beta looked. I have KZ2 and the beta was significantly better looking than KZ2 SP! If you don't have a PS3 and won't get a chance to play this amazing game, it's a damn shame because you're going to be missing out on some of the best gameplay/graphics of this generation. And KZ2 MP maps are fucking brilliant.
yet on the KZ forums beta testers are ripping the game to bits
beta is for people to complain I guess. I'm myself in the beta, and I have posted some stuff that I think should be tweaked/fixed. What I find annoying are the guys pretending KZ3 to be exactly like KZ2. I know that wont happen. Love the overall positive impressions the beta is getting. I'm having a lot of fun with it.
Nice little summary the beta is shaping up to be awesome, still some balancing issues with the wall hack, base camping, could do with a little more recoil for lmg cant think what else... I think it is good they got rid of custom games to stop people using the same map like in KZ2.
My main "minus" is powerfull machine gun, assault, etc, gun balance in kz2 was perfect, with a shotgun and skill, only a better player can beat you, now unskilled player can kill you without headshot in close range combat.
you can snipe with the LMG its so accurate, also the faction balancing, or lack of it is driving me mad, its totally spoiling the beta for me but im sure it will be addressed for the games release
FACT number #11 it is epic! FACT number #12 C.o.d will be glitched out when this comes out. FACT number #13 C.o.d will get shelved after this comes out in my household.
when you have Killzone 3?
I just paid off my pre-order for this game and I'm so excited for this game. I wasn't in the beta, but I watch countless gameplay videos. This game looks amazing. It just better have a solid singleplayer as well. PS3!
"custom matches are no longer an option" Really!? So I'm guessing we can't create private matches to just play alone with friends either? -_-
thats the only bit thats disappointing to me. I liked the options it gave me in KZ2, I could join any type of game I choose. This may not be a problem though b/c on KZ2 I only look for games where the title is "No RPG' or I see the Assualt class is locked. XD I just hope I can select my preferences b4 matching making though. I like playing either 17-24 or 10-12 player matches. With the grenade launcher now requiring your actula grenades to use (you only have like 3) and the rocket launcher only having like one rocket, rocket spamming will be non existant. Plus you'd actually need the rocket to take down a mech or something.
I actually never had any huge problems with the rocket spammers (except on 32 player matches with 10 assault classers, lolsplash). Once I had all the class-related trophies, I always went standard with the Helghast LMG and 95% of the time hit 1st place and was 10 or so kills above the 2nd top player on both teams (who was usually assault...). That gun owned even at long range with proper burst fire and crouching, which almost no one else seemed to do. If anything, I felt the Helghast LMG was imba. 24 also felt like the sweet spot for matches. 16 sometimes felt too small, 32 would be out of control.
I loved the custom matches, you haven't really played KZ2 until you've played a 2+ hour warzone match :) #10 - what's so great about meaningless points increases? A kill is still a kill no matter how many point they give you, I prefer the old scoring and no stupid points popping up in the middle of the screen. #6 - I love big maps, but I also love the small maps. Blood Gracht with 32 players is awesome. If the maps are bigger than Phyrus Rise then they need more than 32 players, otherwise I'm afraid they will feel empty like the bigger Halo maps.
The fact that you have a complaint about the new scoring system shows that it was a valid point to make? It was included since many will want to know how little things like that have changed. It has become a bit more like COD in it's point scoring system.
Great article! I'm really looking forward to this game. Killzone 2 was certainly amazing in its own right, but I'm hoping for some improvements in the multiplayer for Killzone 3.
I didn't think I'd live to see a proper NowGamer article with good content, rather than petty attempts to get hits from ganboy-flamebait on N4G. :-) This is what we'd like to see more off, NG. :)
