Debating Schwarzenegger v. EMA - gamrFeed

Recently Insomniac founder Ted Price opened up on the gaming media for not focusing enough on matters important to the industry. He noted specifically that coverage up the upcoming Supreme Court case concerning the sale of violent video games to minors was especially lacking. He's right.

He challenged outlets to present more coverage of the issue, and gamrFeed accepted that challenge. While oral arguments are about 12 hours away at time of writing, this is gamrFeed's attempt to create discussion not only of this issue, but of other big issues that concern the gaming industry.

It's time that the gaming press treat their readers as the intelligent people they are, and this is a step in that direction. Continue on for the first edition of VGChatz.

Schwarzenegger apparently has problems with freedom of speech.

The_Nameless_One3275d ago

Schwarzenegger apparently forgot which kind of movies made him a big Hollywood star.

We can all agree that video games caused the Columbine Shooting.

We can all also agree that video games would have prevented the Columbine Shooting.

DuneBuggy3274d ago (Edited 3274d ago )

If there was no video games, they would have blaimed Columbine on movies, music lyrics, too much (insert chemical here) in the water supply, brought up in a single family, mommy never loved me,my girlfriend rejected me,etc.
Take some personal responsibilty for your kids!
Someone that messed up in the head that thinks killing people is cool and acted on it, didnt become that way just from playing Doom.
Most of us here play violent games and (presumably) function fine in society.
Theres always going to be a percentage of people who are nuts, and passing restrictions wont change that.

This is also the guy that said he had admiration for what Hitler had done politically. (Not the killing millions part, just his climb to power.)

Us gamers lose if that happens.

Arnold doesn't like video games? Then I guess he wouldn't like this....

despair3275d ago

that is one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen and I've watched Glitter *shivers*

CrzyFooL3275d ago

You've watched glitter!?

despair3275d ago

It was a long time ago and my girl at the time wanted to watch it, who the hell was I to say no, I mean I knew I wouldn't like it but to be that bad...I still remember that so clearly, guess traumatic experiences stay with you.
