definitely a strategic move...

HolyOrangeCows3272d ago

They're making a move for the customer...

Hideo_Kojima3272d ago

They are just trying to make sure there is no shortage.
It would suck if you lose casual sales to the Kinect because stores have ran out of Moves.

darthv723272d ago

there hasnt been any shortage of move units (singles and bundles) in my area. Sacramento CA. They have them at Fry's, Target, WalMart.

Gamestop is sold out but I think they just dont stock enough on purpose.

TheBlackSmoke3272d ago

A company has restocked!!! more info as it comes in......

they haven't been in a race with microsoft since day 1 with the price of their PS3.

Microsoft is in a race with itself for second place. 500 million is overkill for advertising a peripheral. Nintendo & Sony spend that money on buying studios and hardware quality + keeping online free. They thump their chest about #s, then correct them when they are shown behind. Its a joke at this point.

Microsoft is following Segas path to nothing. But even then, I doubt they spent this much on any of their power-ranger add-ons. Activator/SegaCD/32x combined probably isn't 500mill (with inflation faactored in)

Microsoft boasts as if its #1 worldwide, and acts as if its innovating. Its all like the E3 showing of Kinect.. fluff. Its all show & no go. Facts are that MS wouldn't sell without misleading people. Lots of American car companies did the same.

SpinalRemains1383272d ago

Your comment may be the most level headed, adultlike and spot-on comment I have ever read on N4G.

WTG

Killed4Less3272d ago

MS is following Sega's path to nothing?? And then you have this guy saying it's the most level headed comment on N4G??!?

WTF this place has a special group and I mean that in the worst way possible.

You've got to be a dupe account man.. This guy lecturing MS about innovating while you are waggling your WiiMove.

ARBitrator3272d ago (Edited 3272d ago )

Why woundn't Sony restock MOVE, do you people think that made Move not to sell it. There is not strategy here, its simple business. So are you guys saying Sony purposely let move go on shortage so that they can do the so called strategic move once Kinect released. If that's the case, why didn't they just release Move at the same time as Kinect? Were they afraid to? No! that's because it's a non issue being made into some strategic BS by some hit hungry website.

Additionally, Kinect and Move are so different that they are only going to sell to customers that is interested in that specific type of motion control. Move is in more in direct competition with the WiiMote than Kinect.

karl3272d ago

wtf are u talking about? no one said that =SSSSSS

Lightsaber3271d ago

I have to agree move it targeted for ps3 owner. While Kinect is targeted for people that dont own a system or only own a wii.

I think $ony wanted to got after wii custmer but all soccer mom sees when she looks at move is a wii with a higher price tag.

I want to write a personal attack right now but I fear I may lose a bubble. Gamesradar has some of the best games journalists on the internet. They care alot more about getting laughs out of readers than hits, which they get plenty of already.

"I want to write a personal attack right now but I fear I may lose a bubble"

Really dude? Drama queen much?

I don't care how good journalist on any website is, stories are written to get people to come to their sites. Why you ask, they pay the damn bills, it's called sensationalism. It goes hand in hand with journalism. It's the same tactic you used with that "I want to write a personal attack right now but I fear I may lose a bubble" comment!

Child Please!

I heard that in the UK they are sold out and having problems keeping them in stock. Looks like even in all the flurry with Kinect Sony's Move is still selling. Looks like it's not going anywhere and is here to stay.

btk3272d ago

Kinect launch is nearly upon us. Time to grab the popcorn and watch this play out.

8-bit3272d ago

Won't get interesting till after the holidays. Both will sell well this holiday, Kinect will probably sell more to be honest but once the hype dies down and people start to notice how limited the controls are and how every game is a recycled gameplay from the last kinect title. Kinect will become a sea of Dance/fitness/casual games

Yea, same reason the Wii bombed...oh wait

@Disagrees- So..what about my comment do you "disagree" with? Please I'd like to know. ;)

4221853272d ago

Whats the point of telling you why we disagree if you can't reply cause you're out of bubbles? ;)

Killed4Less3272d ago

well then it can find a place in my junk drawl right along where my Move accessories are.

question is will it be a a comedy or horror. Hopefully its a comedy but if its horror it will be the most scary thing in ages.

4221853271d ago

Yeah..., I just looked at your comment history and yeah..., I'm the "fangirl" (-_-)

Greek God3272d ago (Edited 3272d ago )

i want to get myself Move for
K3
Deadspace 2
InFamous 2
Mgs Rising
Resident Evil 5 addon

cant wait but i need teh moneeyz

Godmars2903272d ago

I can't wait for all this MC BS to be over and done with.

SpideyNut3272d ago

Well, you'd better be looking into cryostasis then, because with Nintendo, Sony and MS...and a slew of independent companies...all heavily investing in similar tech, motion control/tech isn't going anywhere...until something else in the future makes it completely obsolete.

Godmars2903272d ago

All the major noise, what level the "casual gamer" is going to wade into this crap, will be settled within three months. Probably the first few weeks after Kinect hits the streets.

jwatt3272d ago

It would be smart to have move support for Infamous 2 and especially MGS Rising!

Greek God3272d ago

yeah especially for Rising that would be the killer move game !!!!!

GodHandDee3272d ago

Does it have Move support? I know DeadSpace Extraction content has it but thought Move support isn't available for DS2

Killed4Less3272d ago

Well your going to be partially disappointed since Dead Space 2 does not have any Move support announced, only the old Wii port. And MGS Rising has not been confirmed to have any Move support either. But yeah you can play those games that work better with a controller with the Move.. Awesome! Oh and I can't forget the games you need to buy twice so you can play them with the Move.

n4gno3271d ago

butthurt fangirl, pissed off because move is the best motion controler, and sold out (..not anymore :))

jack_burt0n3271d ago

@Killed4stupidity

wow u are so bitter and twisted, LMAO
