Coolstufftheblog: What's the appeal of online multiplayer anyway?

i agree, it gets very boring. i put a few hours into the multiplayer on reach and that was good enough, i was satisfied. i don't need to play another multiplayer game for several months.

to me playing multiplayer is like playing an atari game, it's fun trying to rack up points for a few minutes here and there but anything longer than that and you realize how pointless it is. it's pointless, mind numbing repetition that gives a game the illusion of longevity. i'd much rather experience a narrative.

Well if you have friends, (I'll assume you do) you might want to hop online to play together.

Also, it prevents privacy, I could go download Black Ops right now, but at the end of the day the rich multiplayer component is what I want to come to for an extended experience.

Finally, if you're anti-social or "are social" enough already in real life, thats great, have fun with that. =\
