I really wish they would fix the bugs in Fallout games. They ruin what is otherwise a great experience.

SephireX3273d ago

Come on. It wouldn't be Fallout without the bugs.

Urahara3273d ago

Not enough patches in the world to fix that combat system though.

meganick3273d ago

I think New Vegas has been patched on all platforms at this point, PC and PS3 for sure. I don't know about 360. I've been playing with the version 1.01 patch on PS3 for just under 20 hours and I haven't had any problems.

ryuzu3273d ago

PC games have had this problem for years - partly a way to cut corners on testing and partly because it's very difficult to test open world games for every possible user scenario.

I guess it's the price you pay for more freeform games and is enabled by consoles with Hard Drives.

I guess there may still be people out there with 360s without HDDs - can they even play this now?

r.

I'll just wait till they patch it to a workable amount of bugs. Then* I'll get NV.

RedDragan3272d ago

Not sure why some gimp has disagreed with you, obviously that person is gimped by your intelligent statement.

These reviews for Fallout NV are rubbish, they are playing to money, not to the potential buyers of the game.

Any game with as much bugs and crashes as Fallout NV does not deserve a rating above 2 out of 10. It is the only way to force the devs to put more effort into releasing a working game. The excuse of "open world is too big" is rubbish, they should have not have released the game in this terrible condition.

And as for the publisher saying it was the Graphics Cards problem... what a load of crap! It is upto the Dev to make sure their game is compatible, not the other way around. They know the spec's required but as is more common today, it is the likes of ATI and nVidia to update firmware to accomodate the lazy developers who are releasing broken software.

Given the history of both the Developer and the Publisher, don't expect much from patching. There are still plenty of people who experiencing crashing on a frequent basis after the 1.01 patch.

Until the game is fixed, it is and always will be a 2 out of 10 game. There is no compromise for a game that breaks every several hours. It's unacceptable.

"Fallout: New Vegas (PS3/360) – 10/9/9/9
Fable III (360) – 9/9/8/9
Radiant Historia (DS) – 9/8/8/9
Do-Konjou Shougakussei: Bon Bita – Hadaka no Choujou Ketsusen!! Bita vs. Dokuro Dei! (DS) – 7/7/7/7"

Talk about being easy to please.

visualb3273d ago

or EDGE.

just compile EDGE/Eurogamer scores with Fumitsu scores and you get a fair average xD

"Talk about being easy to please."
Yep.

Say what you will about any magazine or website...Famitsu reviews are the most useless in the universe. An inflated number followed by a single sentence. Wow. Way to go in-depth, Famitsu.

People complain about bugs but deal with it. They are not game breaking (in MOSt cases) and when I pay 60 bones for a game and am 41 hours into it and not even 50% completed, well, that is a good purchase to me.

Add in the awesome exploration, the hours that can be spent modding weapons and bartering the dark humor and everything you want in an RPG.

To put it in comparison, I bought that abortion of a game, Singularity and after 5 hours I completed it. $60.00 for a 5 hour game that was linear as all hell? Please.

RedDragan3272d ago (Edited 3272d ago )

Yes they are game breaking!

Don't be so stupid with your commments. If the game crashes for so many people every few hours, or the screen goes black, or a main quest cannot be completed because an NPC is stuck in the ground... then yes it is game breaking.

Fallout NV is a mess, the developers have a lot of work ahead of them to get this one sorted. There is no further discussion to be had on the matter.

Do-Konjou Shougakussei: Bon Bita – Hadaka no Choujou Ketsusen!! Bita vs. Dokuro Dei!

^^^ What a name...lol Japanese love them multiple subtitles.

Fable and Fallout seem to impress. Fable III keeping it's head a float in the 80's on the meta.

VandimionX3273d ago

yeah, they look less crazy in actual Japanese though. ww

QuantumSponge3273d ago

"It seems the magazine enjoyed Fallout: New Vegas a great deal."

Sadly, it will be ignored by Japanese developers.

plb3273d ago

Japanese ignore most western style games

CrzyFooL3273d ago

Infaune-san to the rescue!!!! :-p

meganick3273d ago

The Japanese are busy playing dating simulators and anime games and other weird stuff.

catch3273d ago

Why would that be sad? The differences from Western games are what make Japanese games great.
