I'm not seeing a difference outside of the MW2 shots being bad compositions compared to the PC black ops/high settings shots. I doubt consoles are going to see that level of AA/texture quality out of a COD title.

@PRHB HYBRiiD - Who cares about refined textures? The issues are Jaggies, Pop-in graphics and 1080p resolution support. Pre-rendered screen captures from the PC version say nothing about how it will look on a console. Has Treyarch gone the extra mile to eliminate Jaggies and Pop-in graphics? MW2 touted 'streaming textures' which eliminated most pop-in graphics but jaggies were apparent around objects that require shadows or thin objects like wires and trees. These issues totally impact the immersive experience.

If Treyarch wants the "AWESOME" the crown hands down. Eliminate 95% of all jaggies please.

... black ops was created with extra tiny details, snow flakes, dirt, darker colors (which is good) and doesn't seem overly bright. A lot of my friends (and myself) agreed that MW2 wasn't the best looking in the series ... this just proves it.

Yea ... as for the KZ3 Beta - it does kind of ruin everything (halo, cod, etc) ... the game is just that fun, exciting, and you can take it to the prom. :D

Black Ops has been confirmed to run 720p at 60 FPS on 360...

Hopefully it's the same for PS3, after they gimped the split-screen I've been pretty pissed off at Treyarch

I always think COD games have excellent graphics, sure the textures are kinda poor up close but I'll take 60FPS, no jaggies and a super smooth running engine over a couple of nice close-up textures any day....Reach...ehhemm...

In order of importance:

1) no jaggies/litte screen tearing/30 FPS
2) 60 FPS
3) Impressive close up textures. I don't spend that much time zooming in on textures but I do appreciate them for a fleeting moment.

Both games are mediocre at best when it comes to graphics. Nothing spectacular is going on in real-time. Hence the 60fps we all love.

Plus, I don't really see any true improvement, graphically. I see changes in lighting technique, different light mapping style and a few different changes in atmosphere, but no real "improvements", per se.

People need to understand the difference between changes and improvements.

Naturally Treyarch doesn't want their game to look like a clone...so they're going change some parts of the overall look of the game.

Also, some of the screenshot comparisons are not good / unfair to MW2.

the most impressive thing to me about COD games on the consoles isn't how they look in stills, but how they look in motion. Really smooth and all comes together very nicely.

both games almost look identical. the only picture you can see a differece in is the snow one where black ops has the cross bow, its the 3rd pic. its pretty sad we are all about to pay 70 bucks for this, lol. they could easily do an update to modern warfare 2 to add all of this. look at red dead the zombie game. its a full game add on for 9.99. the first pic i didnt even know which game was which because they look the same.

next yr they will be releasing modern warfare 3 or black ops 2 and it will be the same thing with a couple new kill streaks and maps. added weapons and perks. easily can be a downloadable for 10 bucks.

bring back cod4 and add weapons and new maps. i rather spend 70 bucks for that.
