Capcom, Square Enix, Rockstar To Support New Games For Windows Reboot

Microsoft’s announced several third-party publishers that will support the upcoming reboot of Games for Windows Marketplace. Capcom, Square Enix, 2K and Rockstar will be among those with launch titles for the revamp.

I never played the first but reviews seem t think the second game is better than the first, and I played it and thought it was good, it definitely could have been better. RE5 was a much better game.

Capcom always makes good PC games though. They always look great and are really well optimised. RE6 and DMC5 in DX11 anyone ( cheers Nvidia )

Regarding GFWL.

The service sucks, no doubt about it, but when you use it in offline mode, it is more hassle free than steam. LP2, no disk needed to play, you don't even need the CD key, GFWL is there for the online component, but you can play LAN games without even using GFWL and the save games don't even appear to use GFWL either, so it's not a problem anymore, it used to be so intrusive that any game with the logo on it was a no-no, but RE5, Dirt 2, LP2 and a few other GFWL games i've bought recently, I've never had to even touch it. I've never even had to update GFWL because the games do that themselves just like DX updates, as long as it stays that way, i'm cool with it, but if they start shoving GFWL activation down my throat, I'll stop buying them.

I think that MS is taking the Wal-Mart route. Putting their hands in too many cookie jars and not focusing on what made them great in the first place. And they will fail because there are other companies out in the market willing to focus on a specific area that will dominate MS.

ROFL @ Rockstar supporting PC gaming but then why shouldn't I be surprised MS is teaming up with 4 companies that are so out of touch with the PC gaming scene it isn't even funny.

I did have a chuckle at MS's opening erm "line up" for their new GFWL reboot. Hm lets see they are offering launch titles such as GTA III, Max Payne, Deus Ex: Game of the Year edition. I mean my god those games are OVER TEN YEARS OLD and have been available on steam for years.

So the best thing MS could do to "reboot" their PC games service is team up with companies that really don't care for PC gaming and offer us 10 year old games ........ seriously I want what the head honcho's at Microsoft are smoking if they think this is going to be a success.

Games for Windows is just holding back progress on PC. Steam already does everything better and offers a far greater range of games. Fuck off, MS. Just bring some decent games to PC and let us choose what platform we'd like tot play them on instead of trying to control everything.

Crapcom has sucked for the last 3 years. Square Enix is the same. Rockstar can't port a game to PC that is worth saving their lives.

So basically, GFWL relaunch is gonna be supported by a bunch of washed-up, has-been console devs that never cared about PC gaming in the first place? Then I guess they fit in perfectly with Micros**t.
