Fallout: New Vegas - 2 Wastelands, 2,000,000 Problems

Agreed. Characters have been weird from the get go, they never look like their part of the world, it's like their super imposed ontop. weirdness.
Also they should use motion capture like the other top notch devs are doing.

Yeah they really need to start using either a totally new engine or just use Id Tech 5 engine since Id is part of the company now. Either way will make the fallout and elder scrolls series WAY better.

I really hope the rumors that the next Elder scrolls is using the same engine aren't true.

even though oblivions engine was bad(ps3)it was a beautiful game to look at especially at night when the stars come out, not to mention it was a joy to play compared to heap of crap fallout 3.

I bought the Fallout 3 GOTY ed, from steam on sale for $5-USD... And I loved it, but that's just me.

I never encountered any bugs in the game and I've put over 40 odd hours into so far. What have you guys come across?

I really dont see the big deal? I haven't had one crash. Sure the frame rate is a little shoddy, but its far from a game breaker, the graphics are freakin sweet still, and most of all the game is really fun. More fun than most at that. Go take your complaints and your vocal minority with you scrubs.

it is a fun game but i can see what hes on about, i noticed a lot of the textures are the same, the map looks like no attention was even put in it, same with the quests

I got an idea lets cry some more.... Another new game and another site trying to get hits really sad... Who really runs around once you have map locations you can just warp around the map? What do you think an open world game is really every open world game made you do a lot of running, quests, and back tracking. If you don't like it stfu and go to another genre.

The game has crashed for me once and the frame rate isn't great but I'm enjoying it nonetheless. I've put about 10 hours in so far and haven't got much to complain about.

Edit: Also lets remember it is an RPG, it was never meant to be a quick play through linear style game, it does require a hell of a lot of work to 100% it. If that isn't your style of game then move on to something else.

10 hours and 1 crash isn't major which is good to hear. I'll have my copy tomorrow. Glad they're fixing the issues pretty quick though it seems. Obsidian always have buggy releases, it was a given.

My friend told me today he headshotted a guy who then flew up in the air and landed back down on him - killing him in the process. I found that to be a pretty awesome bug haha ;)

Yeah that's the cool thing, most of the bugs I have seen have been funny like a Ghoul getting its head stuck in the ceiling while still trying to run, and the bugs aren't common enough to be a major issue. Also the music adds to the overall hilarity of the game, blowing mutants heads off to some 50's country and western makes possibly one of the most entertaining experiences I've had on a game since Vice City.

Seeing how I am still playing Fallout 3 at over 100 hours. I don't think New Vegas will bother me. I was playing jus the other night and loving every minute of it. It seems like whenever I set out for a goal, on the way there I find 3 other things to do and the next thing I know its 2 hours later and I still haven't gone to my goal. And THAT is why I play. Not for the game engine, or the animations. It's the immersiveness and charactors. Nothing more and nothing less. I guess if you know what to expect you won't be dissapointed. I'm still not done in the wasteland. And when I get New Vegas, I'll have two games to wittle away time with.

With all the bugs, I'm kinda glad I haven't started playing New Vegas yet after buying it. I never would've thought it would've been THIS bug ridden...I know Fallout 3 had some bugs, but New Vegas just seems to be even worse based upon the articles I've seen. I'll probably just wait until after I get finished with the RDR Undead Nightmare DLC before starting New Vegas...hopefully by then some significant bug fixes will be out.

The most glaring mistake this article makes is the assumption that Fallout New Vegas was suppose to be a FPS with RPG elements tacked on. This simply isn't the case. It is an RPG that has tacked on FPS and TPS elements to try to appeal to a wider audience.

Coming in a close second it states that the game still forces you to rely on VATS...this also isn't the case. If any thing the opposite is true. In Fallout 3 they were very careful not to throw to many enemies at you so that each on could be taken down in VATS, they were slow to fire in RT, and VATS recharged quicker in F3. In New Vegas VATS recharges more slowly, the game throws more enemies at you at once, the enemy fires more rapidly.

If anything New Vegas feels like a collection of Mods for F3. It has Exnems Hot bodies, Gantry's Weapon modding, better factions & merchants. Not to say the game is bad but it isn't as good as F3

with the article...However, I am willing to forgive everything bad about this game from the glitches to the old and reused game engine to the repetitive quests if only the shooting mechanics was improved. Like the article states, they still want to use rely on VATS and shooting down the sights is still pretty damn horrible in New Vegas as it was in Fallout 3. It just feels really weird to shoot with anything but the VATS system. I am a novice when it comes to aiming on a controller but I have no problem playing other FPS. In New Vegas and F3, aiming just feels really awkward and stiff. This is a shame because I wanted to play New Vegas as a pure FPS but sadly, this doesn't seem possible, at least in my scenario.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks the shooting mechanics are stiff in this game, am I?

This game sucks. 4 hours in and I'm walking around everywhere like a zombie. I love boderlands and that can be hard but it's like night and day against fallout4. Im happy I rented it and after 1 day will be taking it back. I knew something was wrong when there were many copies to rent on a new game. back to bioshock2,rdr, borderlands
