It'll be the same as Fallout 3. PS3 has AA and performance problems (watched 2 gameplay videos on YouTube and both of them had FPS problems but nothing major) while having a better texture quality and 360 will have the upper hand with AA and performance. It'll just come down to the players decision at the end. Nice comparison pictures except one or two. I'm going with the PS3 version first and when the DLC comes and if it's something worth buying, I'll get the PC version later.

Check one of the YouTube gameplay videos I've watched (the other one was GameBlurb's First Ten video and it's been removed). And then check the screens. Texture quality differences aren't noticable too much (when I first watched this video I thought rifle's textures were looking worse on PS3 but thanks to the comparison pictures above, I now know that it looks identical on both systems).

I second that. Run duplicate on a 40"+ inch LCD HDTV, have you tried it? I've got an Xbox360 Controller for PC, I sometimes play Fallout 3 with that because I don't a have a small table to put in front of the TV for the mouse and keyboard.

New Vegas just seems to be smeared in diarrhea browns & scoury yellows.

Actually I'm a PS3 fan and I can clearly see how much better the 360 pics are. PS3 version is riddled with jaggies, it's disgusting. It looks like a ps2 game. I HATE jaggies so much! HATE THEM!!

PS3 version has no AA just like Fallout 3, jaggies are present in the PS3 version. While AA is turned on in the 360 version, things like telegraph poles look a lot smoother. Don't bite my head off, just saying.

From my limited knowledge, the 360 has dedicated hardware for AA. So the developers just enable it, and voila! Everything has some lovely AA, practically free of charge.

Any AA on the PS3 is either done through the RSX (which costs performance), or off-loaded onto one of the PPUs during the stage any post processing is done.

The problem is that the PS3's power lies in these PPUs, which requires specific coding. Obsidian are obviously relying on Gamebryo's multi-platform capability to deliver a consistent experience. And it's already leagues ahead Fallout 3 on those terms.

If there was a difference, I'd say the 360 has better AA going (especially in the distance), but the the PS3 has slightly higher texture resolution on certain things (note the gun and hands in iron-sights mode).

Though both of these things can change with other effects like HDRL, motion blur.

The 360 version is more crisp overall. The PS3 version is quite jaggy and has a much blurrier draw distance as well. Looks to be about the same differences as there were with Fallout 3. Glad I picked the 360 version up this time.

I also notice the removal of the emotion-engine chip, 2 usb ports, and Other OS feature. Don't know if my logic can compete your superior logic but I'd say that could be a contributing factor to lowering of cost. You also mention about some people are cheap so you might as well just get the PC version to get BOTH the AA and high res textures. And don't give me that "It takes 3k to run games" BS because it doesn't take much run New Vegas maxed. An HD5770 with a dual core CPU will decimate any console.

bah! its a wash! the 360 has anti-aliasing, but the ps3 is a tad sharper with some textures being slightly higher res. it really doesnt matter, unless one has significantly better fps.

but bethesda used the same insanely outdated engine as oblivion and f3, and is almost assuredly going to have lots and lots of technical issues on all platforms... shame. BETHESDA USE ANOTHER FUCKING ENGINE!!!

I got the PS3 version and the game seems pretty sharp but it occasionally stutters which is a real turn off but...id rather sit in a comfortable chair and a huge TV with a ps3 controller...than in front of my PC in a non so comfortable chair and have to use the keyboard and mouse.

--Especially for this game that is going to eat up plenty of time.

Ps3 version has much worse jaggies but the cost for 360 is a soft,fuzzy look and that makes textures look less detailed.Look at the jaggie riddled garage on PS3 and on same pic the 360 hand/rifle look so blurry and the back drops are foggy.

the 360 shots are much worse especially in the distance, the ps3 version is definitely more clear,and instead of just disagreeing go look for yourself....

For example on picture 6 you can see the rusty shack on the edge of the building, where as on the 360 version, not only can you not see the colour of it, you can hardly see the structure the whole little town is shown in much less detail, screen 7 ps3 has way better lighting, and even has an extra window, with rays of light shining through, 360 version window, boarded up.... it really is clear to see which version is better if you stop being a fanboy for one second
