KoKuGamer - With the way that many gamers and popular game bloggers speak nowadays, you’d think that the only games that they’ve played weren’t released before 2000. This sort of talk leads me to two theories. The first is that most of the two groups mentioned above were fetuses while I was got my first NES. The second is that most gamers nowadays really have no sense of video game history. Honestly, I’m leaning toward the latter theory. With that in mind, I wanted to take a look back at the Action/Platformer subgenre, and talk about how it evolved on consoles, and the family that started it all. That family I’m mentioning is the Belmonts, and their game was known as Castlevania.
