PlayStation Informer:" Here’s a video showing an interview with News23 in TBS Fumito Ueda, the video you can see the new footage of the game The Last Guardian and Ico / Shadow of the Colossus HD"
2011 is Fumito Ueda's year. His games will totally rule! Ico + SotC + TLG = GAMING HEAVEN FOR PS3 OWNERS
especially like the bit where ueda san is looking up through the trees and they look just like the leaves/trees in his games.
Next Year, $120 for you Team Ico. EDIT: Can we possible get a translation? I would love to hear what Ueda has to say.
Such a heart warming video & game. A refreshing breathe of fresh air that makes you believe in the video games industry amidst all the commercial nonsense and information war Microsoft, Nintendo and Kotick keep pushing the industry to the brink of extinction. You wont find this quality on a Nintendo or Microsoft console they are all about sales first - rehash over rehash of basically the same looking commercial games. No one has the guts to do beautiful games like these (Uncharted 2 & GT5 included) except Sony. I am glad these games are exclusive so Microsoft can not touch them like they did Final Fantasy XIII. These games will be timeless class acts.
the ICO HD quality is actually looking quite great especially in lit up areas as someone that bought and finished ICO and SoTC at LEAST twice, I'm contemplating the redundancy of getting the ICO collection, but Trico is DAY 1
Creativity like this comes... once in a lifetime.
/me wants to pet the chicken dog thing
This game is going to look amazing when complete!
have so many exclusives?
Because it only does everything :)
I have access to all consoles an a fairly crappy gaming pc, and usually preferes games to be exclusive just because that gives the developers more time to polish the games. But when it comes to this particular game i whish some other studio would port it to the 360 after release just so more people could experience it. I mean if you played ico and sotc you most probably would not hesitate to buy a ps3 but sadly not many people did.
It needs to stay on PS3...no need to tarnish the experience by dumbing down the code to run on other systems.... any gamer worth their salt will know what these titles are about and buy them on their release date...those that do not own a PS3 will have yet another reason to go buy one....if they choose not to then they are still missing out...luckily you and I have access to all the consoles and get to experience the best of what all the consoles have to offer...and in this case the PS3 is the only console that can offer these titles properly in the way they were meant to be experienced.
Well i didnt mean like ff13, that would be heresy. but i suppose you are right. A ps3 and TLG is 5 times the price of a regular game, suppose there is a TLG bundle. If we factor in the two previous games from team ico its a safe bet TLG is going to be more than five times the experience the average game is. I would go as far as to say this will be my first "must own" game this generation. i hope it gets at least 3 million in lifetime sales. unrealistic, perhaps, but it seem to get the publicity ico an sotc never got.
"It needs to stay on PS3...no need to tarnish the experience by dumbing down the code to run on other systems" code is code no matter what medium is used. your either a fanboy or just gullible in believing the ps3 is some magical unique box that only a privilege few get to develop for. its not much more different that a PC or the 360.
My friend...Code is just code...I totally agree, but how a machine runs it is based on the parts in it.....u look at a low end single core pc with 512 pc3200 ram, regular harddrive and and an agp slot GeForce 256 bit card then compare it to how the code for a game runs on a Quad Core PC with 8 gigs of ram, a raptor harddrive and the highest end PCI-Express Gefore card out there and tell me that "Code is just code" LOL simply put...last gen tech shouldnt be trying to run current gen code...not a fanboy....more like a Fact.....boy :)
Source: http://www.eurogamer.net/ar... "The engineers produced a close emulation of HDR lighting, tone-mapping and motion blur (including per-object - wow!). Astonishingly the SCE team even mimicked something approximating the look of the kind of fur pixel shaders seen in PS3 titles like LittleBigPlanet. Programmable pixel shaders were still in their infancy when Shadow of the Colossus was produced, and the PS2 hardware itself offers no support for them, so the inclusion of an equivalent effect within the game was all the more phenomenal. The terrain streaming mechanics, the brilliant physics and the shadowing systems were remarkable for their time. Indeed, Shadow of the Colossus even features character self-shadows and cloth simulation. There's also an outstanding implementation of volumetric fog, adding another layer of atmosphere and ambience to the game. " Team ICO is using emulating tech that is NOT supposed to be in the PS2. Just think what they would be able to achieve in the PS3. -End statement
yep they are amazing :)
The way it looks it is going to be truly special. To bring these titles and work them onto the PS3 and revamp them is going to be awesome.
Imagine a world where a game like this sold 20 million copies and a game like mw2 barely broke the million mark.
AMEN to that. AMEN to that.
Call of Colossus: Moder warfare 2, and we'd all be waiting for PS3 remakes of PS2 COD titles
No, we wouldn't. This would be the only thing we would need :)
The Ps3 is officially maxed out with The Last Guardian!!! In fact it'll need 2 Blu-ray discs to show off this EPIC masterpiece!!!
lol how much FMV do you need?
out 2 years ago with gears
I always thought the cutscenes were using "in-game" assets and they don't utilize a ridiculous amount of resources as to a "pre-rendered" FMV. -End statement
So amazing that it almost brings me to tears.
The Ico footage was not the HD version. She was playing it on her PS2 so its the Ps2 version.
ooohhh im feeling the love...
Idk who has more passion for their games, Yamauchi or Ueda.
Theirs no game that I'm anticipating more that The Last Guardian...(except maybe Shadow of the Colossus and Ico HD) so this post made my day. nice to see the TGS (I presume) footage.
