"Someone's got to be the Taliban"

Eurogamer's Johnny Minkley: "I am of the view that EA has every right to set its game where and when it chooses and, once passed by the ratings body, the decision rests with individual consumers as to whether they play it or not, whatever their reasons."

"Most of us have been doing this since we were seven: someone plays the cop, someone must be robber. In Medal of Honor multiplayer, someone's got to be the Taliban."

More like someone plays the world cop and oil robber while the other plays the taliban.

yeah ,honestly, i hate being the american, murdering , tyrant, thieves !!!!

"More like someone plays the world cop and oil robber while the other plays the taliban. "

lol @ world cop statement. Righttt... because the UK, Russia, France, and other countries don't do anything remotely as bad the U.S.

Give me a break.

The point is that there is no good guys in war. Both sides are equally bad.

Why not change them both to just opposing force and invading force, because thats what they are.

Because they are evil as well, however France sounds interesting did they stop wine and bread export to US?

People act as if the world is black and white, good and evil when in reality it's all just a dark shade of gray.

koul3289d ago

Terrorists?
Taliban is a goverment of Afghanistan. People in Afghanistan don't even know why US every day killing thounsands of them. People in US don't know why their army occupied Afghanistan. So who is terrorists?

LinuxGuru3289d ago (Edited 3289d ago )

It WAS a governing Islamic political party. Now it's only a strong insurgency that fights against the governments of Afghanistan, Pakistan and the countries that make up the ISAF.

If you want to get serious, The Taliban was RENOWNED and INFAMOUS for its horrible, vicious, INHUMANE treatment of women and was/is feared, loathed and hated by locals and the world over.

So don't go exaggerating and calling the ISAF forces the terrorists.

And what's with this statement?

"People in Afghanistan don't even know why US every day killing thounsands of them"

Where the hell are you pulling that bullshit from? Yeah ISAF (which is the correct term you should be using) kills insurgents, but we are not mercilessly slaughtering thousands daily. You don't know what you're talking about.

But ANYWAYS, the point is that Medal of Honor is a freaking game, and people need to let the game stay in the game realm where it belongs.

Sarcasm3289d ago

Honestly, the moment I saw Berg's head get cut off, it showed what kind of people the Taliban really are. They are modern barbarians merciless and as bad as people say they are.

And that's not a reflection of Afghan people (which I have friends) but specifically the Taliban.

Then again, I don't want to sound like an ignorant American and use this as one example to generalize all Taliban or something.

LinuxGuru3289d ago (Edited 3289d ago )

Oh my gosh...I watched that video and I felt like puking for the next two days, not only because of the gruesomeness of it all but the plain evilness that poured from the people involved in that...butchery...I will always remember that.

ChickeyCantor3288d ago (Edited 3288d ago )

"Honestly, the moment I saw Berg's head get cut off, it showed what kind of people the Taliban really are. They are modern barbarians merciless and as bad as people say they are. "

Give me a break, the ones who were picked as suspicious "terrorist"(by american soldiers) were beaten up, every day, up until they were traumatized during their captivity.

There are even interviews with these people.

Beheading, sure its brutal. But traumatizing someone, until the point where they think its "normal" to be treated like that is equally worse, if not worser.

Im trying to find the youtube videos i saw a few years back, can't find them now.

Trust me evil runs trough the human vain. Just because you saw a beheading doesn't mean your side is all friendly.

kraze073288d ago

Sidar it sounds as if you're picking a "side" in this case. Constantly beating someone until they're mentally disturbed is bad, but beheading someone is taking someone's life away. That's something they can't get back. Even worse is the gruesome way they did it. It's as if the guy was killed and having his grave pissed on all at the same time. I once saw a video of Iraqi insurgents cutting off the hands and feet of another Iraqi man. This is when all that sectarian violence was going on. Basically my point is no sides are right in a war that's wrong, but if you think the Taliban's actions are justified or not as bad as the Allied nations actions then you have a twisted image of this war.

ChickeyCantor3288d ago

"Sidar it sounds as if you're picking a "side" in this case."

Well arent you picking a side?

Im not picking a side, just pointing out that non of these war-teams are innocent.

"if you think the Taliban's actions are justified or not as bad as the Allied nations "

And what gives you this conclusion?
You are just taking my post out of context and not just a bit.
I dont think any side is doing it good, you can call one of them allies, but how much do you exactly know about them?

So the taliban beheads a person, but we are just gonna let the fact slide that the "allies" have killed upon thousands of innocents as well?

Im not on anyones side, i just think you become a huge hypocrite once you start talking about a specific moment of the situation while if you look around tons of other stuff is going on as well.
Sure one man got beheaded on a video, but by the millions people have died during war, be it terrorists, allies or innocents who were just there at the wrong moment in time.

Let me add: someone who is traumatized needs to LIVE with it, and over come it, which is a hard task. It can F up your life.
