Impressive Start For The PlayStation Move

Rsuer Saldana writes: When the Move hit shelves several weeks ago, there wasn't much available for it: just a handful of new games, a few existing titles patched for Move support, and a demo disc. Despite the lack of software, the Move stands out as a responsive motion controller and an excellent product overall. It’s easy to look at the titles available now and dismiss the Move as nothing more than a Wii HD or gimmicky peripheral, but after spending some time with the controller and seeing what developers are doing with it, it’s obvious to me that the Move is headed in the right direction.

It's been great so far for Move-centric games, but there have been a few let downs including MAG.

Keith Olbermann3294d ago

I havent tried it yet but am interested. What sucks about it?

limewax3294d ago

apparently it feels similar to keyboard and mouse in a way so I guess unless you were a PC gamer before it feels very alien

TheOldOne3294d ago

its just hard to use and takes time to get use to.

BryanBegins3294d ago

Yes I just bought MAG because it was only $29 and I wanted to play with Move. It's good but god it's hard to adjust. I'm getting owned all the time.

Keith Olbermann3294d ago

do you think you could get better with it over time? I really want to try it.

RankFTW3294d ago

Infact on MAG it is awesome, think the OP just needs to practice more. I've played FPS with a keyboard and mouse since Quake 2 in 1997 and using Move is alot closer to that combo than a DS3 is.

Biggest3294d ago

In fairness to the Move, MAG isn't the most noob friendly game around. If you're new to MAG, expect to get destroyed regardless of controller.

It only suck for people who don't have Skills to play MAG with Move.

JoeReno3294d ago

I've been playing MAG 2.0/2.1 with Move and have scored some of my highest xp games yet. I don't think it sucks at all. Feels a lot more natural to me, and I don't have my common twitch reflex that I have with the DS3.

BryanBegins3294d ago (Edited 3294d ago )

Oh I forgot, this is N4G, the land of only skilled players. So yes I suck cause I have no skill... Whatever man, never said it sucked, I said it was hard.

@Keith: I'm sure that after a couple of hours it'll actually be better using Move. But for now, new to MAG+Move=getting owned.

Does GT5 have move support?

TheOldOne3294d ago (Edited 3294d ago )

i think it does have move support I remember reading it somewhere. But even if it did, a steering wheel is the best way to play any racing sim.

air13294d ago (Edited 3294d ago )

why not? you are most def. going to have controller support..

i agree with theoldone.. but i think its cool to have support for all 3, i mean why not?

BryanBegins3294d ago

lol it always make me laugh to see people wishing for less features! You hate the Move support in a game like GT5? Fine, just use a controller! Geez, start complaining if it's Move only. It's like people bitching at 3D movies when they can simply go and watch the movie in 2D.

dirtydbz3294d ago (Edited 3294d ago )

gt5 has eye support not move support but people have started to group the eye as part of the move experience ( cause it is ) but I'm not sure exactly how it works all I know is it tracks your head ( but if you move your head too much you won't be looking at the tv)
so your guess is as good as mine

limewax3294d ago (Edited 3294d ago )

Chill out man, its not because I dont want it to support all three as such, just honestly think that anyone playing this on move would be at such a huge disadvantage that it would be better off not there at all. However if its there then will look forward to finding out on release day

By the way I beleive the camera feature is mostly to make use of the ever annoying 'im not turning hard enough so Im going to lean with it' habit lol. I think its brilliant, Im buying the eye to see this in use when I play it. Plus I enjoy looking at the cars interior on the empty straights

Runes Factory Oceans uses the PS Move, hope it comes to EU/US

AceofStaves3294d ago

I've played a couple of the 'Rune Factory' titles. If 'Oceans' does release here, I'll pick it up, Move or no Move.

plb3294d ago

Just give me Sorcery please Sony. Oh and KZ3 and LBP2.

Agent-863294d ago (Edited 3294d ago )

What about a lightsaber game? The damn thing almost looks like one and the ball could glow the same color as your onscreen lightsaber. Use the Nav Controller or DS in your left hand for movement while swinging away with the Move as the lightsaber. Plus the Move has rumble feedback so you could "feel" the whacks. Man, Sony really should be in talks with LucasArts to make one; it would be so much better than that "on-rails" Kinect StarWars game coming out.

BryanBegins3294d ago

Dude, I agree with you. As soon as I held the Move in my hand, I was like: I want it to be a lightsaber!

jerethdagryphon3294d ago

force unleashed 2 would have been perfect one saber (move mirrors for the other) a nav controller and use the fave buttons for powers

ooh the ball could stat dark red and then switch to blue or whatever color your savber is

cochise3133294d ago

i'm still on the fence about this. i have to try it first. if anything i'll get it for socom and KZ3. it does look very promising though. let's hope sony give it the right support.

air13294d ago (Edited 3294d ago )

cant wait to get mine

hey busta..
